Demonland outranks MFC Official Site

New to the site but love to have a look at the informative posts and better understand our long term task . Melbourne supporters have a great sense of humour (built from necessity) .Glad to see a place were we can get together and plot our future success .Lets face it -you wouldn't want to have them in your home .

Thanks Demonland .

A bit more analysis shows that we are the 6th most popular single club site; several of the top sites relate to general AFL matters

Go Dees

Been here since day dot.

Other than the odd run in with a mod or 2 my life would be incomplete without this site.

Time to donate again.

Thanks all through the good times and the bad.

Go the Deez!

Suprised Big Footy isn't number 1. The amount of traffic in Bay 13 alone is ridiculous.

Been on here for almost ten years and although my postings have slackened off considerably since the early days, I still read Demonland several times a day.

Thanks to Andy, Jack and the rest of the crew for keeping Demonland going since the Aimoo days.

If I remember correctly DemonWorshipper, you had the highest post count (by far?) on the Aimoo forum. You dropped off as soon as we cut across.

This forum software is a massive improvement on the Aimoo stuff. My only regret is that I was not able to continue to host the site anymore - it's nice to feel like you're giving something to the community. These days the best I can offer is to be a punching bag for anyone who wants to bitch about the moderators :P Being called a "High Tower wannabe" for my moderating style is probably up there with my highlights on Demonland. :D

Sites doing a great job but cant rate results that highly.

Where is Collingwood's websites.

Thye don't know how to use the internet.

Thye don't know how to use the internet.

They can't spell Internet let alone use it ;)

Hate those pies Golly woo!

Ah the old forum post count, are we able to bring that up in the way back machine somehow?

RE HT wannabe that absolutely made my night.

PS congrats Andy et al on a fantastic site and big part of my week for many years!

Well done guys - keep up the good work.

Although the official MFC site has improved "out of sight" this year, with lots more video content; much better and more timely coverage of events, it will never have the "edgeiness"and open forum nature, you have achieved. All in all, a good result for everyone !

I must of had 2 accounts way back then. 252 and 947. Did we have to re registar due to accounts being lost at sometime? Cant remember.

I was on the Aimoo and I can't even remember what my user name was!

Going on 8 years now. Love your work Demonland.

hmm....suddenly feel a bit old !! lol

i thought we might see a joeboy 2 word analysis for old times this week. thats a 50% expansion on your words you are using these days joeboy. does that make it easier or harder do you think?

RE HT wannabe that absolutely made my night.

Hah. And mine.

The day has finally come. Demonland.com now outranks the MFC Official website. The ranking is worked out by their 1 month traffic rank. The 1 month rank is calculated using a combination of average daily visitors and pageviews over the past month. Demonland is now 14th (our highest ever rank) out of all the AFL sites and the highest of the fan sites. The list can be found below.

That's awesome :)

If I recall correctly, you started this site as web-design assignment or something! You used to have counter at the time of how many hits the site had and we all got so excited when it hit 100 hits, 200 hits etc!

Well done Andy & Dad :)

Just thought I'd add that its probably time I write another article for Demonland. But perhaps the site is only doing well because I haven't written an article in so many years (and noone really read them anyway)...

(and yay - I just reached 20 posts! I bet I'm the only moderator to boast about a feat like that!)

I guess it's welcome back santiago ! :)

Good to know you're still posting. I'd encourage you to write an article, anything written for Demonland about the Demons is worth reading.

Hope to read a bit more from you. It must have been a while since your last. ;)

Sincerely well done Andy and to all that contribute, particularly WJ and those that make Demonland what it is today. Well done Admins, Mods and all members./

True... perhaps it's because I went from being single, to being married, having a toddler and now another baby on the way.

Congrats for, well everything Finksy, hopefully we'll see you back in the mix a bit more soon. Take care.

Harden up man, I have had three and still counting since I started working with Demonland! ;)

Geez babe, I clearly remember sending you my congratulations for the first one.....

That would be some number of years ago now  !!!

Fascinating to have a read through.....

I couldn't remember what I went by back then, but there she was, pretty obvious looking back now!!!

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, and to those folk who help make this site as great as it is.....

Which is everyone in reality, but a special shout out to the admin core. They do a genuinely great job.

Ha Ha. I have a print out somewhere of a screenshot of when we hit 666 visitors. How far we've come. Now we get about 35,000 page views a day.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
