Let's lose the pessimism that has too long been part of this club. I am confident MFC will do enough to keep him. Wish he would sign earlier to end of this speculation and over the top reactions, but he doesn't have to and it makes sense, on his part, to wait until the end of the year.

The AFL investigated the Judd-Visy deal, and found it was within the rules. That is what I mean by precedence.

For all those losing sleep over this, Watts was rumored to be going to the GC last year at the end of the season (Though to be fair nowhere near as much speculation as Scully has had) and he signed in the offseason.

I have faith he'll stay with us .

The majority of their list will be on basic beginner contracts so the distribution of the salary cap is skewed massively in favour of the players they are able to poach as well. These two factors allow them to offer obscene contracts to several players, with the bulk of the cash coming in the first year.

oh i understand the front end contract, over 2 years alright. Many Club players and administrators are going to have a lot of sleepless nights.
