AFL LIVE 2011 match simulation for todays game

Recommended Posts

Here is a little bit of fun for those of you with the game.

I'm am thinking of doing a all AI full match simulation every week with a view to forecasting the results.

Feel free to use this as a betting tool :)

I encourage those of you with the game to do the same and weekly we could assess which PS3/XBOX was the weekly winner of a trip for two to Wandin.

THE RESULTS

NTH MELB 18 . 14 . 122

MELB 21 . 14 . 140

Fair to say it was a shootout at Shitihad stadium today in perfect conditions under the roof. Nth kicking away early thanks to some serious ruck dominance before a Sylvia led revival netted the Dees 5 straight midway through the 2nd term.

Moloney was prolific in the middle as was Harvey for the Roos, but the unlikely hero of the day was Stefan martin who was rotating between ruck and FF that proved a difficult match-up around the ground for the very slow moving Goldstein.

Watts was clunking everything directed through him  and finished with 4 majors and Green was deadly accurate also with 4 goals straight. Wonna and Jetta each jagged a couple after the later was subbed in for an injured Petterd who left the field with a calf strain nearing half time.

Frawley played a very suspect game in defence spending the majority on the dangerous Petrie who just slotted the lazy 9 goals. Clay Sampson stuck with him though and a Tapscott led defence peeled off at every opportunity to provide run through the corridor.

It was also pleasing to note that Wells was well held by Bartram who even managed to drift forward for a goal of his own.

The pressure will no doubt be on Clay Sampson this week who was wielding the changes left right and centre before heading to the balcony for a smoke and leaving Dunn in the ruck to be smashed nearing 3 quarter time (resulting in a 3 goal burst to the Roos). :o

All in all it was a fascinating contest and one which saw the Dees break a double hoodoo in shitihad and the whining Roos and left the Kangas licking their wounds but still maintaining the ridiculous notion that their kids are better than the Dees.

VOTES

3 : Petrie

2 : Sylvia

1 : Watts

God I hope this is right  Not only would we break the double hoodoo, but petrie is in my DT and his 9 goals would be handy as :) :)

Fair to say there is some bugs that need sorting out!

I blame Sony

That's good, I prefer us blaming a multi-national than the usual weekly singling out of every single player on the list.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Fremantle

The Demons were blown out of the water and were absolutely embarrassing against the Fremantle Dockers in Alice Springs ultimately going down by 92 points and getting bundled out of the Top 8 for the first time since 2020.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
