It seems some think there could be a change @ the Dees. And some think there should be. Some think they've heard whispers, and some maybe trying to stir up dissent.

Many other clubs are on the Hunt for a Coach, or could be soon, this or next year.

I asked myself the question, Why?, when things are going along, OK... At 10 premiership points, from a possible 16 at this time, whilst still in indifferent form, there is a lot of Upside to come this Year.

Is there an underground push for a change? If so why now. Could it be the Availability of High Credentialed Coaches?

I think where theres Smoke, it's not long before the whiff of Blue Cod permeates.

I like Dean Bailey...i always have, but if he and his assistants have hit the wall, then we must act.

Look at Essendon last year....The Acted & got what they wanted.

Dees aside,,, Essendon planned it the year before, when the rumours where about re Hird. That was when the plans were laid, and the contacts were sought as to who would be interested to help the New Group, and who would be available. They undermined Knights so the team would fall down the ladder giving them a better quality 1st Rnd Pick. They got rid of Scott Camporeale & the other I can't remember 2/3rds through the season. The plan had been set a year earlier, but the list was just a bit raw. The Apprentice, Coach get his ducks in a row, then wham.

Right at this moment in time, I would think that Lyons' grip on his position at the Saints must be very tenuous. (of course that could all change over the next hour and a half, but right now...)

The Saints have been so regimented over the last few years, they've forgotten how to play intuitive Footy. Thats the beauty of the 3 man interchange. It's breaking the back of Coach Dominated strategies,,, and placing the game back into the hands of Footballers who are both creative and tough.

Collingwood is similar, but not as regimented. They have more football ability in their sides. But they do still rely on their strategies to back one another. The Hawkers have an abundance of (stevie johnson) type footy talent. Super creative. They may need it.

Malthouse = potential to coach next year, but by no means certain

Roos = adamant he's not looking to coach again, especially while kids are coming through

Matthews = said in Open Mike he isn't interested in coaching again as he doesn't want to leave Qld and reduce time with his grandchildren

Clarkson = time will tell

Eade = probably needs to get a GF to go around again

Woosha = Eagles form atm might just save his skin if they can keep it up

Craig = according to Crows pres, future is absolutely certain, regardless of results

Lyon = time will tell

Voss = players seem to be playing above where everyone expected, probably hinging heavily on results from here on in

Scott = well, I think he might be stuffed

Bailey = tracking ok, but needs improvement

Basically all the hysteria surrounding Bailey centres around the prospects of the Malthouse/Roos/Matthews availability. I think definitely the FD needs to poke around and feel out options IF they are not entirely happy with current arrangements. That said any talk of Roos or Matthews I believe is way off base as both are truly adamant they aren't interested, with good plausible reason as well. Malthouse, well I struggle to see how he wouldn't want to go on, especially if the pies manage to get another one this year, but it will all come down to how the situation as to job description etc develops over the rest of the season.

Bypassed in most discussion as to potential coaching options next year are the other coaches who could be in the firing line. Clarko, Eade, Woosha et al. In reality more discussion re next year should probably revolve around this bunch rather than the first three, as they are probably more likely to be available at this stage of the season. Throughout the rest of the season, situations may change and even more than once, but as it stands, I would temper my enthusiasm towards any coaching change based entirely on the fact that any teams form can change in the blink of an eye and completely alter the landscape of the coaching futures of one or many.
