Scroll down to the "AFL Round 1" box and you'll see that the old MFC logo is still being used. Did the club send out a press release to all media outlets informing them of the new logo and re-branding? This is not good for branding. I have also seen the old "Melbournefc" logo used on Sports Tonight quite often, as early as a few days ago.

I just Tweeted to Cameron Schwab about this also. It's not very good on the club's behalf. I'd be all over that if I was part of the marketing/branding department.

I have seen Fox Sports use the new logo in the NAB Cup, they're obviously up to date with proceedings. If the old one is being used it's not the clubs fault. All media outlets would have been given the update through the AFL itself.

The flip side is, the new emblem is just that its a club emblem not a simple logo. I have no problems with media using the square logo for small logo related type things. Use the emblem on bigger signs where the detail can be adequately shown. Otherwise its a tiny little few dots of incoherent red and blue bits.

Really guys? One of the most important part of branding is consistency. They ditched that logo last year. The opinion some of you seem to have is the very mentality that has held this club back for a while (no offense). I'd be vigilant if I had the power, and I'd demand that the logo be changed to the up-to-date one ASAP.

    UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft.     Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock for the final week of training for the 1st to 4th Years until they are joined by the rest of the senior squad for Preseason Training Camp in Mansfield next week.
