Ricky Nixon

Featured Replies

I blame the girl who cannot be named for legal reasons for having pathetically poor taste in liaising with Nixon.

I have a feeling that he went to the papers as a form of damage control. In any event, it's only a matter of time before the truth gets published on You Tube.

She may be vulnerable but she's all too willing to get involved and compromise men so as to inflicit maximum humiliation and/or criminal consequences for revenge or financial gain. She appears to be totally amoral and I don't think anything can be done to help her nor does she appear to want help. She should be seen for the chisler she is. But I can forgive a callow young footballer getting involved with someone like her because they would not have the smarts to control their testosterone. But for Ricky, he deserves all he gets. He's just a dirty old man always looking for the main chance.

You have some terrible opinions on things.

She's a 17 year old, who was taken advantage of by multiple stkilda players, who treated her like she's awesome, until one of them got her pregnant and they dumped her like a piece of rubbish.

The afl players treated her like shizen, and this is just one of numerous examples of afl players thinking they can treat girls like they are worthless and have no consequences.

This girl has been put through hell and back. The way she tried to exact revenge was immature and spiteful... and she will probably readily admit that looking back in a few years... but guess what? She is immature, she's an underage teenager.

She should be seen as a victim, and these new revelations about Nixon just show how these dirty older men and taking advantage of her.

Actually, as a PR professional I have looked on at this saga with some astonishment. This girl is not stupid by any means. Leaving aside the so called morals of it (which wouldn't be commented on at all if she was a bloke), she has played the PR game to maximum affect to meet her three main aims: get maximum revenge on the footballers involved, embarrass St Kilda to the greatest extent, and to extract maximum compensation. There seemed also to be a wider agenda to embarrass the AFL to prove the point that all footballers are amoral and just there to exploit innocent young women. How better to do this than snare one of the games major powerbrokers.

There are not too many professional PR companies which could have thought this one up and executed it so brilliantly and ruthlessly. This young lady has a future in the cynical game of media management and PR. Also you can't beat men's stupidity though when it comes to these issues. Nixon has shown himself to be a goose.

I agree these filthy St Kilda pigs and the rest of the ALF players should be ashamed. I'm relieved our young players don't have sex till they get married.

This one`s not so certain. Has she received anything more than a free hotel room and some pocket money?

The delicious irony of course being tha she`s been spending Ricky`s hard earned commissions advising none other than Sam Gilbert and co.

She could write a book !! He did lil . Bet there's a few interesting tales to be told.

I don't think he'd mind because he's so generous. He did say he wanted to help her after all.

Some really ordinary conclusions drawn on this thread by posters who should know better.

She has only alleged "sexual" relations with Nixon. I dont think its at all proven. She may be 17 and vulnerable but she has proven herself vexatious and vindictive. She is on a one way downward spiral and she is set on taking any person who crosses her path down with her. She is either poorly advised/manipulated or not being advised on her.

At worst Nixon has been guilty of criminal behaviour. At best he is guilty of gobsmacking stupidity with no nous or thought for the compromised position he was getting himself into. At best he should have known better and seen the lights flashing. It was clear from past behaviour that any contact/negotiations with this girl should have been on arms length and transparent arrangements.

IMO, Nixon who has negotiated brashly and arrogantly in the past many a hard struck player contract, has tried to play "GOD" in trying to settle this issue with the girl on behalf of the Saints and Riewoldt. His ego unchecked and using his usual low key behind the scenes tactics, Nixon has compounded the problem (for his clients) and raised serious issues about his behaviour and judgement. He has dug himself a hole which he cant climb out of. I just cant believe he would have engaged in anything but trying to settle this long running issue with the Saints and Reiwoldt and the girl. If indeed her allegations are correct and proven, the actions of R Nixon are breathtaking. He will have not only further damaged her life but destroyed his personal and professional life and badly hurt all those close to him.

No winners at all here.

Wow. You'd be one of those psychologists that act to get deranged killers off a murder charge because their mum wouldn't buy them a sunny boy from the tuck shop.

It's blindingly obvious that this girl is devious, calculating, manipulative and smart. Her tweet ‘‘This is it. It is now officially over. Ultimate pay back. Thanks HS.’’ says it all.

The stupidity of the adults in this saga is simply breathtaking but don't kid yourself for one minute she doesn't know exactly what she is doing.

Indeed, if all that has been written is correct, they both seem to deserve one another, although, the girl concerned may some judgement as she gets older. Player managers are the blow flies of sport perhaps necessary but inevitably disgusting.

Some ugly attitudes from some ugly people on this thread.

As to her I feel she is both victim and culprit and as such victim of not just her actions as the despicable exploitation by others. In that sense she's just a little bit too clever for her own good. She needs help for sure.

Then we have Ricky. D!ckhead now has a new poster boy. Why anyone would want this fool involved with any part of your life

, professional or otherwise is anybody's guess. I was going to compare his stumbling legacy of decision making to a Trainwreck but the Trams are more to his liking aren't they !!!

He's supposed to be grown up , apparently not

Soon she will turn 18. Her game plan won't work as well then. Though married men, doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, policeman, lawyers, priests, politicians and others offering her professional services should still be mindfull of their ethics. This incident is strikingly similar to that 17 year old girl who recently had sex with the policeman who was trying to help her after alleged improper behaviour by St Kilda footballers. Of course she did the right thing and got him sacked and criminally convicted. Not related are they?

What the hell are you talking about?

It's the same bloody girl.

That was a seperate legal case and we have to be mindful of outstanding legal issues since she still cannot be named.

She has not been named.

But it's still the very same girl.

edit:

And the policeman had absolutely nothing to do with St Kilda.

She had been arrested for a completely separate incident of shoplifting.

We all know that.

Then why be so vague and talk as if you don't?

Agreed. Disappointing.

This is an amazing error of judgement. Nixon was the first high profile player manager and really brought that side of football into the limelight, what, 15 years ago?

That he has put himself in this position is unbelievably dumb. Is testosterone really that mind-numbing? Guess so.

It is time we stopped describing the young woman in the saga as a "17 year old girl" however. She is old well beyond her years.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
