If i remember correctly, he played quite well against the doggies this year, in one of his two matches.

Good luck to him. His talent is certainly around the mark - it's not like he doesn't have it.

But every time he strings together a few games he gets injured. I would think he'd be over the constant injuries, realise that his body might not be designed for AFL and step down a level. But good on him for persevering.

Good Footballers should excel at VFL level

He doesnt and its why he along with hundreds of others play only a few games at AFL level (some don't play any)

I wish anyone who has a go the best of luck but this game at AFL level isn't a walk up start like it was 40 years ago

Hughes has always been excellent at VFL, when fit. Unfortunately, that wasn't often enough.

Not necessarily there have been a lot of footballers who find the VFL level too scrappy and not to their liking but have dominated at AFL level purely because there is more space and it is quicker so they can use their talents instead of being stuck in the VFL ... (Just this year a lad by the name of Medhurst was stuck there too long and it ruined his career)

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Exactly my thoughts, Master. He really seemed good enough to me to be a proper AFL player , if only he wasn't injured all the time.

I'd love it if he got another go, and admire whoever picked him for recognising his talent. But we gave him a pretty good go.
