Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The 2 games tomorrow are of high interest for all sorts of reasons.  The Rams @ Raiders game especially.  Gruden might have some surprises in store for us.  And such is the divisional implications in the NFC North I'll be barracking hard for the J.E.T.S tomorrow!  That's divisional football for you.

I have the mother of all close games in fantasy. Gurley to come for me, then Kerryon Johnson and Rams D to come for my opponent and I'm 6 points adrift. It was game over until Cobb caught his 75 yarder and suddenly I was alive. Cobb = old faithful for me.

Good luck with all that Dappa ... I'm busy trying to figure out a trifecta combo in the 7th at Moe tomorrow!  ?

Anyway,  a number of ex-players are making mention of the rustiness of teams early in the season with references to the lack of intensity in the practice games.  I guess we're just going to have to live with it as the teams don't want to risk their stars until the main games begin.

It's only week 1 but a number of the better credentialed teams have limped over the line or have failed to win when favoured to do so (Steelers,  Saints,  Chargers,  Dallas,  Seahawks)

Chargers should be disappointed. They're stacked.

Dallas I think will fall away a bit. Dak and Zeke were really mediocre, and i can't see where they turn it around.

Hawks losing surprised the hell out of me too. That news will likely get lost in the Bucs/Saints and Packers noise.

With Rodgers, one of two things happens. Either they scan and reveal minor bruising and soreness that calms down, everyone is relieved and says wow what a performance, how tough is he.... OR.... it's something more major like a strained MCL or whatever, in which case that game takes on even MORE mythical proportions. If it turns out to be the latter... then my god, how did he DO that?

He's obviously had a jab or 2 to get back out there but knee injuries are notoriously difficult to evaluate unless it's an ACL (which it isn't)

We're going to have to wait until Wednesday and even then we probably won't know all the details.  MCL strains can be 2 weeks up to 2 months yeah?  We've got the Vikings at home next week but if it is to be Kizer for a time,  we can at least compete at the QB position.  Happy to see the end of Hundley.

I watched the movements of Rodgers very closely and he moved reasonably well,  all things considered.  But I'm no Doctor haha

I’ve just finished watching the Niners and Vikings in full. Good Minnesota debut for Cousins. Garoppolo did it a bit tough and had 3 picks. A few dropped catches here and there didn’t help and losing our no.1 RB and then our no.1 WR during the game never helps. 8 point loss to a very good team though, hopefully they can learn from it.

I’m now going to watch highlights of the other games. Sounds like the Bucs really surprised.

I somehow ended up with Garroppolo in every league. I'm not jumping off him just yet. He did some good things. 250+ yards against Vikings is nothing to sniff one's nose at.

He definitely hung in there, just a few errant throws. He’ll learn from it.

Definitely. And the quality was there to see. Loved seeing him get furious at himself and everyone around him after one of his picks. Kept taking the game on too.

Yeah that’s the thing. He threw that pick 6 but it didn’t stop him from going deep and he found Pettis on the next one. You gotta be able to forget that last throw.

As great as Rodgers was, Fuller drops another interception... he is terrible for that.

I never understand why if you know you are going to use all four downs that you don’t go for 3-5 yard pickups opposed to the 10yrds each time like the bears did, they do a few of those and then GB D has to play slightly closer giving more room over the top. They only needed a FG. And after Mathews massive brain fart they had d3cent field position.

Super poor effort first up by the Rams, Raiders sliced them all over the place.

Settled down now. This is the inverse of the Eagles Falcons game that started the round. Seeing some pretty damn good football from both sides.

lol... See?

Man that hurts me. I'm against Rams D... And I have Gurley... and am 10 points adrift now. Need 100 yards from Gurley plus a score I think.

Goff throwing into a 3 on 1 on the GL... not his smartest throw.

I reckon we will use Gurley more in the later part of the 3rd team when players start to tire.

Well that gives me hope. Tell you what, nothing's changed. Rams still great to watch.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
