layzie 34,528 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 (edited) Very hard to go against Mahomes in any Superbowl. Barkley will need to run like hell. Spagnolo usually has the answers and I think he will use blitzes to full advantage yet again, so they are relying on Barkley a lot in this one. The Chiefs aren't great on run defense but are definitely better than the last two teams the Eagles faced especially Washington. I think they can make it difficult for Barkley and stopping him should see the Chiefs win. The quarterback dual is a good one. I'm not the biggest fan of Jalen Hurts in all honesty. I think he's got great tools and dangerous when teams sell out against the run but he's not the most accurate and can be susceptible to pressure despite having one of the best lines going round. Mahomes on the other hand is 2nd in the league for success against pressure despite having no LT for most of the season. The one thing in Hurts' favour, is that he's not asked to do as much as two years ago, this is a different offensive unit and probably much more to deal with for the Chiefs. It should be a good game but it's unlikely I'll be picking against The Chiefs. Eagles sweating on the Dickerson injury as they will have pressure through the interior line. It will probably come down to Spagnolo vs Sirriani/MMoore. Tip coming soon. Edited January 27 by layzie 2 Quote
Macca 17,127 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 (edited) Neither Super Bowl team is superior to the other ... it's a deadset pickem' match-up But on the day is often a different story and that's why we sometimes see blow-outs with evenly matched teams For instance, today we saw the Eagles demolish Washington but they are not a 30 point better team. 4 major errors vs none and the Eagles took advantage Where as in the Bills/Chiefs game the fumbles were all recovered except the one Mahomes fumble It's those big moments that matter the most and the Chiefs are very good in the big moments That KC 41 yard punt return to Remigio which led to a field goal was one such big moments. As was the dropped catch by Kincaid for Buffalo late in the game Edited January 27 by Macca Quote
ElDiablo14 5,061 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 KC by less than 7 They'll win as they have done the whole season, one score game masters. 1 Quote

I'm quite confident of them getting the 1 score win, if that makes any sense at all. I don't see a blowout either way unless a key injury happens early on. Regardless of the result, I do want to see Barkley wreak some havoc. I'm sceptical on it happening though because historically it doesn't. In the last 20 years only 5 RBs have run for 100 yards+ in a superbowl. You have to go back to 97 for the last time a RB won the SB MVP. More often than not defenses in these games stack the box and focus on limiting running room, not to mention teams that make it to this game usually have a very good front 7 on defense. Barkley has all the capabilities to buck the trend, let's see. He may break one off early and that sets the tone for his day. 1 Quote
Dr. Gonzo 24,468 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 KC 1-6 I'm not betting against the Chiefs until they prove me wrong. 3peat coming up, Philly look a bit banged up even with the 2 week break and if Hurts is forced to throw it I can see a couple of costly turnovers. 1 Quote
Gorgoroth 13,220 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 @layzie If the Chiefs stack the box then Hurts needs to hit AJ Brown and the recievers, but especially AJ and get him deep. I think the trend gets bucked here and Saquan runs for 120+ Quote

Providing that Barcley has his usual output, that will keep the Eagles in the match. If he is at his best then the Eagles can win. If KC curtail him, then the Chiefs should win KC's offense nearly always has a number of big moments and one of their strengths is being able to achieve 1st downs after a couple of plays Reid was quoted as saying that it will come down to which team makes the least mistakes but it's those big offensive moments that gains big yards that also makes the difference And both teams can gain big yards from any particular play All logic says KC win again but because the margin looks to be on the small side, I reckon it's a toss-up (a guess) Quote
Gorgoroth 13,220 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Rams have informed Kupp that they are trading him if they can... I'm gutted by this, I was hoping a re structure of his contract would happen, but big money and production down, but the catches yards etc are as important as the blocks and the leadership and standards he set will be sorely missed. I do think they will bring it but I've warmed this week to the idea of the trend being bucked. I think he's simply too lethal and has possibly the best line in football making the lanes for him. Chiefs will be prepared to take their licks. Win or lose I think he'll get 100+ Edited February 4 by layzie 1 Quote
JV7 2,375 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 KC 1-6… The journalists poking the bear with the smarta$$ ref questions to Mahomes & Kelce, can’t remember which Eagles player it was who made a remark about Taylor Swift & not knowing who she is etc… Can see it all playing into the Chiefs sticking it up them 1 Quote

layzie 34,528 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Deebo Samuel turned up to SB week wearing an Eagles jersey to support his mate AJ Brown. Personally don't have much of an issue with it as it's a nice retro looking jersey but a trade block with Deebo, Kupp and Garrett on it would be a big start to off season shenanigans! 1 Quote
