Magpie morons out in force last night.

I quite like the collingwood chant. Better than our static supporters. We don't even wave flags and some don't even wear our club colours. Cheered hard one day and this prude next to me kept complaining.

You're kidding yourself. Our fans went bananas this season. I get sick of the self-loathing Melbourne supporter syndrome.

Yeh agreed. We had some of the most superb atmosphere I can remember, especially given the actual numbers.

I was pulling beers at a fairly classy restaurant/bar in South Yarra, and yeh, it's fair to say the Collingwood supporters that were dorwing their confused sorrows were absolutely feral.

Perhaps you should see a doctor?

Just highlighting my observations- we need to cheer louder and bring more colour to the game. The football admin has turned things around, the pplayers have turned things around - now it time for the supporters to do the same. Perfect triangle.

Well, I guess I can't really convince you of the colour/noise thing, as it's a matter of opinion, but I do take issue with the idea that the supporters need to 'turn things around'. In the past few years, the supporters have achieved the following:

- Raised over $5mil.

- Sourced a major sponsor (Kapersky).

- Broken the membership record 3 years in a row, including following our worst season in 25 years.

- Continue to have one of the highest, if not the highest 'member to supporter' ratio.

I'd also posit that we have some the most knowledgeable supporters, but I obviously can't prove that. Anyway, my point is, we have absolutely sensational fans. Leave it to the media and other clubs to perpetuate harmful and untrue stereotypes.

Was a good night out up here in Brissy. No Pies fans in sight. Ran into Brad Miller in the Valley and he was more than happy to have a drink and a chat for a while. Was a top bloke as most on here already know. Sounded pretty confident he will play for GC.

Odds are that 95% of the people embarassing themselves are the sort of morons who don't go to one game all year and pull the scarf out of the bottom drawer once every five years to go and get blind at a pub and pretend they know what's going on.

Roy Morgan do a survey every now and again identifying the characteristics of supporters from each AFL Club.

From the 2005 survey: Melbourne supporters 17 per cent more likely to have a diploma or degree than the average person.

(Collingwood supporters were 35% more likely to have a maximum year 11 education and 62% more likely to have purchased something from The Reject Shop in the last four weeks.)

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
