What a day to suffer the stupid policies of the AFL and Big Pond (or is that Bog Pond?). Living in Thailand, I've suffered long enough, not being able to view videos on line because of AFL/Big Pond copyright restrictions on any online viewing outside Oz.

Now they've extended this ban to radio broadcasts as well !!!

Now I'll have to wait until someone puts up some highlights and the theme song on You Tube!!!

Stick that up you Bg POnd!

Wow!! I just looked up the scores, is that correct or are the philippines Beers playing tricks on me!!!

Maybe last weeks effort has finally sunk in. 4 Quarter efforts Demons, at either the MCG or on the road.

See what the Results bring you....Now have a late run for the finals-it is possible.

How is the Big Jimma's Health?? He would be smiling today.

Yep, pack of absolute pricks at the afl. They want to grow the game overseas but you cant watch or listen to it outside of australia....

And you couldnt even pay to watch this game online at omnisport.tv.

unbelievable.

Telstra are the worst phone company on the planet-The Clubs should be able to stream their own games independantly, i hope it happens one day-The AFL just have no idea about people travelling overseas.

Big Jimma is sitting on the bench doing some "live" crosses" (game is 3pm on tv game in Melb) and indeed he has a smile on his dial>

Try living overseas!

The AFL have no idea about what to do on the net, and then how to implement it. Go back 10 years and they're just like the record companies were re music downloads. The ridiculous thing is that the longer they fail to grasp the nettle, the more opportunities it opens for others.

Awesome news. I hope we had a good turn out in the crowd-Sounds like Jack Watts is starting to come to terms with his AFL abilities. KEEP GOING JACK.

I have lived outside Australia for 16 years - Thailand for the past 10. I keep up my membership and as soon as my salary comes this month, I will contribute to the Debt Demolition.

I don't blame Melbourne for this dumb down. It is short sighted thinking from the "wizz kids" at AFL and Big Pond.

Today was even worse, because the Australia Network (ABC satellite TV) had the Doggies v Freo. We had a good run from them earlier in the year, but not on much lately.

Surely someone must be able to understand, if they want to expand the game outside Oz (as we should), they should get out of their small island mindset

Perhaps Jimma and the rest of the club can start the ball rolling for fans EVERYWHERE - not just in the "little pond'...Big Pond ...what a name - full of water hahaha!!

I listened to the game on the AFL Site and I'm in Europe at the moment. I couldn't get it at first and my son sent me a text telling me to re boot I did and it worked after that I'm still listening to the summary.

I do live overseas. I work in the music biz too - used to be called the "record" biz - so I know what you mean and agree entirely.

Their small minded attitude will open up opportunities for others - eventually.

I wouldn't even mind paying for LIVE streaming - well at least a realistic fee - not this whimpy replay for a stupid price and days after the event.

Things would've gotten really serious had Carlton lost last night - would've been just 1.5 games out of the top 8. But not to be.

The win alone 'wins' us respect and we should set a goal of winning 3 of the last 5 games. We can start thinking about finals next year IMO.

Yes i love watching the Australia network, as an ABC employee it makes me very proud. But yes the Dogs & the Shockers did not inspire me, as was last night Geelong v Brisbane!! I went out.

I was able to listen via the AFL site earlier in the year. But the past few weeks - nothing.

I also tried direct via 3AW & MMM same issue.

I hope your son is right - I would have done anything to be able to listen today...well nearly anything !

Australia Network is a great service to all us overseas Australians. It also provides a good service for anyone wanting insights into the country and what Australians think about things like the recent turmoil here in Thailand.

I only hope when the next round of bargaining for AFL rights comes up, it is able to do maintain the rights for footy.

Australia Network is a compilation of all the Australian Networks, with the ABC being the Main Source, so i think the AFL & NRL coverage is safe overseas. It may be a requirement by law-as a service to ex pats. I will ask when i get back home next month.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
