Demonland Prediction of the Week

Featured Replies

Jordie Mckenzie to get double figure tackles.

I also have a sneaky feeling we'l get a win and also get off to a good start.

for sure dunn would line up on goodes, and try to hurt him on the rebound?

The SCORE

DEMONS 11.6 72

SWANS 9.7 61

Jurrah 3, Syvia 2, Bennel 2, Jamar 1, Bate 1, Green 1, Watts 1

Bolton 3, White 2, Jack 2, Kirk 1, OKeefe 1

Melbourne Best - Brad Green

Sydney Best - Jude Bolton

- Bennell takes a monster hangar

- Goodes does his shoulder,

I predict my wife will go to New Zealand for the weekend allowing myself to dead set off my rocker and let loose all that pent up frustration from the top level of the Ponsford Stand, without someone scowling at me the whole match.

I also predict Jurrah to take mark of the year.

Jamie Bennell to be BOG in a breakout game.

Mark Jamar to accidentally swallow Ben McGlynn whole in a pack

Will be a fairly low scoring affair, I think. Watts to have a good game but I think Sydney will get home.

But.

If we have a good start (5-6 goal first quarter) we'll be in with a really good chance, obviously.

For me to sing the theme song after the match for the first time in 5 years (live) with a number of other supporters.

Also, Goodes to have a quite day and be kept to less than 20 disposals, and have minimal impact on the game.

Jurrah to kick 4.3, Scully to get over 30 possies, and of course Melbourne to win!

Rohan and Bate to have a head splitting collision. Noone notices the blood amongst the intense fiery red hair. Both play on with Bate to kick a bag

Demons dominate entire game. Davey B.O.G and Bennell kicks 5 goals.

Everyone in media forgets Melbournes awsome performance and concentrates on how bad Swans are.

Jordie Mckenzie to get double figure tackles.

I also have a sneaky feeling we'l get a win and also get off to a good start.

Bingo 12 tackle great game Jordie.

Correct on all counts. Although I think you should be docked points for rating our start only "good".

haha fair enough, it was an amazing start :)

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
