Looks like Trengove is going to miss another week, and Maloney out also, so selections for mine this week:

OUT: Maloney, Morton

IN: Maric, McDonald

(all 'M's).

Barring Junior's return to the side, I would go for Wonaeamirri just to see how he and Jurrah go playing off each other. Could be pretty special I reckon.

Dude... Moloney has been given a "50/50 chance" to play!! Don't jump to conclusions so quickly.

Read the MFC website... he is a "test".

Trengove won the handballing competition on the Sunday Footy Show. He was asked abour his injury and he said he was out because of general soreness. He certainly inferred that he was available to play next week. It looks like he was just rested.

Yeah but never believe what you see on TV or hear from the players mouths in that situation. He was always going to keep the cards close to his chest.

He has already been ruled out on the MFC website.

If Moloney doesn't get up (which i think is going to be the case) then McDonald will come in (if he passes the fitness test). If McDonald fails to come up then Maric will probably have to come in as it will mean someone like Sylvia is ging to have to play more time in the guts.

Bate is an important part of the forward line. He needs to play.

Absolutely. This is why I get VERY bored with these "INS : (insert favourite player) OUTS : (insert least favourite player who had a sufficiently bad game)" threads...

Bate has been down on form, but against the Bombers he came into the game in the second half, and against Freo he got plenty of important touches, he just couldn't convert. Had he drilled all three shots, we'd be singing his praises.

The forward line has had enough trouble getting on the end of the pill. Dropping Bate is only useful if there's a whole lot of KP forwards with engines screaming for a game in the VFL.

As it stands, we need him. Even a poor form Bate is better than no Bate at all.

Then ruck him against Pyke.

Mumford's good, but he hasn't good Jamar's tank. He won't ruck all day. So just ensure that when Mumford's out of the ruck, PJ's in. Pyke's terrible.

Pyke may be terrible at a lot of things but rucking isn't one of them. He's actually a more than serviceable tap ruckman and as I wrote earlier, he can take an excellent contested mark.

PJ's main advantage against Pyke will be around the ground - if he can go forward and cause some damage, or become a useful link man around the middle, then we might be able to get a win there. But I wouldn't be chalking up any easy hitouts against the big Canadian.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
