Demonland Prediction of the Week

Featured Replies

Speaking of predictions, I've just picked 7 of 8 home teams to win. Guess which is the odd one out. :P

For our game, I'm picking Jurrah to top the goalkicking this week for us.

Well, I'll kick things off for the coming round.

Rohan Bail to come in to the team for the Freo game.

I think this a given, having read DB's article about possible changes and going in witha running team!

Well, I'll kick things off for the coming round.

Rohan Bail to come in to the team for the Freo game.

ya sod !! lol took the plum one huh !! :)

I think the clue is DB wants run..and lots...all day. Bail fits that..and is a reward for greatwork in the magoos.

am going a little left field..

Dees to draw......again !!

Jamar to dominate the ruck over Sandilands, kicking 4 goals along the way and shore up AA selction ;)

Melbourne to start well, then fade out as Freo run over the top of us in the second half to win by 6 goals.

Well, I'll kick things off for the coming round.

Rohan Bail to come in to the team for the Freo game.

for sure

Note to self - get in with the prediction before WJ!

I'll say Demons by 26 pts......we start brightly nullifying Freo & the crowd factor, maintain the 2 goal lead for the day and kick away!

Go dees

I'll go with something a little left field just for interest.

The Dees and Kanga's to set a cat amongst the pigeons by both winning this Sunday. Come Monday we'll hear/read supporters of both camps (and the odd-journo) spruik that the AFL went early on the Rd 22 fixture.

I love it.

:P:lol:

Bail and Warnock in- Cheney & PJ out. Junior will not play due to his first game back would be a risk on the Subi ground. Dees to win by 15 points.

Scully to have 32 possessions and kick a goal!

Trengove. 26 possessions, 3 goals.

(And just for another teaser, not "in competition" for this thread... Sylvia 31 touches, mark of the year contender and 2 goals)

Dee's take them on and totally dominate for a 30pt plus win.

Watts turns the corner and plays his best game to date.

Headlines: "No Barlow, No Dockers" as Freo comes crashing down from the early season cloud.

Sylvia to get 28 touches and 2 goals

Ballantyne 5 goals

ballantyne to not get a sniff, absolutely disposed of by clint bartram

Melbourne to start well, then fade out as Freo run over the top of us in the second half to win by 6 goals.

Predictions of Demons losing should be disqualified!

Frawley has career-high possession count and is BOG

Ballantyne 5 goals

One goal off...

Scully to top the possession count for the Dees

One possession off...!!!

Melbourne to start well, then fade out as Freo run over the top of us in the second half to win by 6 goals.

Epic prediction fail! :wacko:wacko.gif

Scully to have 32 possessions and kick a goal!

Close again... only 10 possies and a goal off.

For our game, I'm picking Jurrah to top the goalkicking this week for us.

Pity he missed the easiest of the lot or I would have had it.

Freo to kick a goal within the 1st minute of play in at least 2 quarters.

Funny. We did that.

Ballantyne 5 goals

Frighteningly close this one. He wound up with 4

From the stats Watts came pretty close to the best he's been for us. If he'd nailed those set shots it would have been a certainty.

Some pretty good efforts from people this week I would think.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
