DEBT DEMOLITION

The more money the club has, means there is more money that could potentially end up in the pockets of Dean Bailey and Josh Mahoney.....No thanks

Utterly disrespectful to our great club.

Hiya "The Boss"

I really think all of us could agree it would be a wonderful situation to be in where we could over pay our coaches. When that day arrives it would mean alot of things we collectively wish for would have already come into being

Don't underestimate who is already at the club-"The Boss" is just a cheap dog who probably doesn't even own a membership. Let's all wait to see what his next insightful contribution is....

Up till 5pm $20,000 had been received.

What an absolute wonderful announcement it will be when the Melbourne Footbsll Club becomes debt free!!!! This would be uncharted territory for the MFC - and it will happen.

To survive one of the largest debt in this clubs history, then come out during the global financial crisis & declare yourself debt free is a marvelous job by the current Melbourne administration - a job well done.

...who probably doesn't even own a membership.....

...where we could over pay our coaches....

After the one year extension Bailey received for his two wooden spoons, it is fair to say that he is overpaid. Everyone seems to hang praise on how good Bailey is at 'developing' players. If he was that good you'd expect the team to have made more progress during his tenure. And on match days, he is a bigger liability than Juice Newton, he is out of his depth in the coaches box.

Jim Stynes: "So Boss how much are you going to give to help make the club you support strong"

Boss: "None, because it will end up in the hands of Dean and Josh"

JS: No Boss it will pay off the rest of the debt so we can use the money wasted on debt repayments to further strengthen our club"

B: "Which means paying more to Dean and Josh"

JS: "No Boss you're not listening. Dean has a contract and will be receiving that money whether we pay off our debt or not, as does Josh. Now what's the real reason you don't want to help build the club, come on Boss, remember I work with troubled kids all the time I might be able to help"

B: "No one on Demonland likes me or takes me seriously so I just say stupid things to try and [censored] them off"

JS: "But Boss why don't you try engaging them in intelligent conversation and debate and try getting your point across that way"

B: "I suppose so Jim"

JS: "So how much are you going to give to DD this time around"

B: "Probably around $100, but don't tell anyone"

JS "I won't Boss, I'll let you do that when you feel like becoming an active and useful member of Demonland"

HA ha gold!

HAHAH You sit just over from me, I'll come over today and ask you if Bailey was able to coach the way he wanted on the way to claiming those spoons. I'll shout you a beer and you can put the money you saved towards DD.

Read that before you make anymore remarks about the coach or the State of the Club.

As i stated earlier you would not have the Balls to make that srarement you made about Debt Demolition to Jim Stynes face, and if you did a Broken Nose would be a fair trade.

Enjoy your other commitments today-the club is better off with you not there.

Good on ya for having the guts to stand up- I do the same. However some of these posters do not like what some of us say.. However, Identifying yourself is unbelievable. If I sat near you- I'd come and shake your hand. Not because I agree with you- I din't on this one- but for having your own viewpoint.Which you should have.

You don't know Jimma by making this statement- he would say- you are welcome to your opinion but thanks for your donation. We may even pay for Mark Williams to be an assistant coach with the windfall we receive..Only rassin - of course. However, we need a kicking coach and a specialist tall forward coach - part time, someone like Carey would be great or Neita or the Ox.

But "The Boss" does not wish to make a donation to jimma or the club as it will help pay for our coaches.

A very shallow viewpoint in my view and extremely disrespectful to those that are rebuilding the MFC which we all know was in a very Shabby state.

This is nonsensical.

You congratulate someone for having a viewpoint while essentially complaining that "other posters do not like what some of us say" ...Could that possibly be because they have a different viewpoint?

I'm getting very tired of that type of attitude on D'land over the last few months.

Poster 1: (Insert statement which is often in contrast to a previous post)

Poster 2: (Disagrees with poster 1's opinion)

Poster 1: (Rant about how they're entitled to an opinion)

I just think Dean Bailey and Josh Mahoney should be seeking employment elsewhere. Dean Bailey is not a good match day coach, and our forward line still lacks structure thanks to the ineptitude of Josh Mahoney.

While your opinion is fine Boss, it has absolutely nothing to do at all with what Stynes is trying to achieve in paying off the debt.

Your personal like or dislike of the coach, the players, their methods or the colour of their shoes is not relevant, on topic or helpful here.

No one minds you having the opinion, everyone is entitled, but for heavens sake please keep what is trying to be achieved by this appeal in perspective.

It is not about your dislike of our coach, but about finally giving this great club the solid off field foundation it desperately needs.

I would have thought that this is something most, if not all members, would love to help with.

Fine but it is still irrelevent to the topic at hand.....

Please this thread is about the Debt Demolition, not about whether Bailey can coach so please stay on topic.

I think the long term injuries to LJ and Ricky Petterd are more of a problem than Josh Mahoney.

Did you factor in those points at all-You have had it in for our coaches all year regardless of results.

Come on WYL don't poke the bear, please.....

We all know there is no relation between the coach and the Debt Demolition so lets just move on ;) !!!

Liam Jurrah has only played 9 games, while he can be exciting it is stupid to believe that his abscence is the reason for the poor performances by our forwards. Since his debut, MFC have played more games without him in the lineup, its unrealistic to expect him to carry the load this early in his career, but he will be a good contributor going forward.

I like Petterd, and glad he is staying put. But at the end of the day, Petterd will only develop to be a 'good' AFL player. I believe he has already hit his ceiling (potential wise) or very close to it. I just hope he stays fit.

In my eyes Brad Green has been the only positive up forward. I haven't made my mind up about Jack Watts, but I think he could be better utilised on the wing at this point until he builds some muscle, I also think he has the aptitude for it because he has done some terrific deliveries inside 50. Plus an athletic 196(?)cm player on the wing could force the opposition coach into some interesting matchups. To be honest, I'd like to see Watts develop into an Adam Goodes type player in that he is able to play anywhere across the ground instead of being pigeon holed at CHF. If he builds his endurance up, he would be more than capable of it.

And I'm talking to myself  .

They raised over 50K at the game today, people were giving Jimmy cash donations, also 6 people said they will give $5K and become Foundation Heroes. :)

Jimmy's a legend.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
