I asked this on the Casey Game Day thread, but it seems not much traffic goes through there at this time of the week, so I will ask again here (besides, I suppose it is as relevant in this forum).

I noticed early in the Casey Game Day thread that there was a mention of Jack Fitzpatrick being injured in the reserves. I haven't been able to find any more detailed information on this anywhere at all, so am wondering if anyone here might know what the extent of the injury was and how well he was performing up until the time he left the ground. Thanks in advance.

i spoke to him and he got a corky

Thanks for that... I suppose with all of the injuries we have been experiencing, I was expecting the worst... would love to see him getting a run in the Casey firsts soon.

Screw that, give him AFL experience. The sooner we have a key forward the better

I don't expect we'll see too much of J Fitzy in Casey seniors this year I would have thought. Apart from playing the Casey boys & the DEE boys, I'd have thought Jack Fi'z, would need to get a real pre season into his big frame as well as getting past any lingering health issues, before ramping up his fitness & weights regime pre season.

There's not much space in the tall forward/ruck area this year with Watts, Martin, Spencer, PJ, Hughes, Dunn, Newton needing opportunities to promote their chances.

Fitzy would be in the prepare your body mode of his development at this stage.

Important to remember even the very, very best AFL tall forwards rarely, if ever, show much before they're 20. It doesn't help to throw these kids in the deep end. They need to play in situations where they can actually get their hands on it and have shots on goal. Getting 3 touches and being beaten to the ball all day long doesn't help kids develop.

This is the same reason Watts could use another couple of games back at Casey to get his hands on it again.

Spot on "Inner Demon"

Jack should be playing for casey this weekend, his spot goes to Dunn who kicked 8 last week and will not intimidated by pie thugs.

Personally I'd like to see Jack play and get suspended for beating Nick Maxwell up

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
