There has been some recent murmurs about the AFL re-introducing the AFL Reserves competition.

I heard on the 3AW rumour file this morning that a certain South-East Council with a ground named after it is not very happy with this development because it has spent a considerable amount of rate payer's money upgrading the facility for a certain AFL Club.

Does anybody know what ramifications this may with our Casey alliance should this goes ahead?

One of the guys on the Foxtel AFL Teams show (think it might have been Liam Picken) also claimed a couple of weeks ago there would be a Reserves comp next year. Would love to see it, but who knows?

I dare say if MFC had a reserves side they would be called the Casey Demons and play at Casey Fields.

Obviously there's a lot more to it, but the dees are committed to the Casey area and wouldn't pull out of there - it's our future

Agreed! I remember as a kid going to the odd game at the MCG and watching both the Reserves and the Seniors. Made for a great day!

I used to love getting there early to watch the 2s.

I remember watching doggie brown go about his thing in the 2s and knowing he was going to make the grade.

Made him one of my favourites.

I would always go to the finals even if our firsts wern't in but the reserves were You still felt part of it. Maybe one game per week on a rotation system. I don't know how the MCG and Etihad would feel having an extra game on the turf though.

I don't think that the AFL/MCC would ever allow curtain raisers to be played on the 'G' ever again, unfortunately. Same deal at Jihad Stadium. I too wish we could get to a game at 12.30 and catch the up and comers going round.
