Am about to go to Europe for 2 months. Beautiful timing just as the team is clicking into gear but what can you do. Fully realising this is a long shot, but does anyone know of places/ex-pat pubs to watch the footy in say London, Paris or Berlin? 2 months without at least a small fix will be tough.

I'm currently living in the uk, and might have to stay here if the dees keep this form going. The biggest problem you'll have is the time difference. It's almost impossible to find a pub or such that will be open at 3 or 5 in the morning to watch the games live. Espn show 4 or 5 games a week live but you would need to have access to sky at the early hours of the morning to tune in. Perhaps a hotel or the like. I have been taking advantage of live streams on the net after finishing working in a bar until i get sky installed, and while it is often frustrating, if you get a good stream its great. The afl also has a system where you pay 4 pounds per game and you can watch it in high quality on the net. Quite often you will get replays on sky and its shown in pubs. Especially now the english football season is coming to an end.

London has a few pubs in the clapham/putney/shephards bush areas that play them. Walkabout pubs often show them too (but the pubs are shite). Otherwise you can watch online.

Eurosport 2 (in Europe at least, not sure about the UK), has a 1 hour highlights package that runs from Tuesday afternoon (of the previous week), plus they have the Friday night game live (on Friday morning/afternoon). Though also other games it seems, for example, Anzac day Maggies/Bombers this week.

Also, look round the net, I think even the AFL are offering some kind of streaming for around $6 a game.

Take your PC and watch each match online together with commentary on "demonland"

The 3 Kings in Fulham used to play a lot of AFL games as will any Walkabout (shudder), the one in Shepherd's Bush is your best bet cos I hear a few have closed down.

You can usually catch games at random times on Sky Sports, but they'll be replayed at reasonable times in the Aussie pubs

In Germany the best place to ask is the Toytown forums (http://www.toytowngermany.com/forum/), but your chances of seeing anything other than the GF are pretty slim (although who knows, the dees' current form?).

I know they show matches regularly (but probably not live) at Cafe Oz in Paris (http://www.cafe-oz.com/) and you've probably got a good chance of seeing one at Crossfields in the heart of Vienna (http://www.crossfield.at/), should you happen to be in the neighbourhood.

That's all the help I can give you on the continent, I'm afraid.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
