Jack has just won this weeks rising star.

My money is on Jack to win the whole thing at years end.

A more impressive first year player i have not seen.

Would be great to see Jack win the overall award however Naitanui looms as a major hurdle.

Fantastic! He was sensational on Saturday.

Won't be the last for our young guns this year.

Trengove will be in our best 4-5 players in a year or two, he already looks like a second- or third-year player.

Congratulations Jack. Nice recognition of a great start to your AFL career. With an ounce of luck, more prestigious personal and team awards will come your way over your career with the Melbourne Football Club.

Jack's going to be much more consistent than Naitanui, as long as the judges don't get caught up in him Trengove will win.

Although it's more likely they will fall for Naitanui.

Unless Jack gets a really dark tan and some funky hair I dont like his chances.

Jack may well deserve it (come round 22) but in all reality its a popularity contest and NicNat is better advertising for the AFL.

I'm not so sure NicNat can go through a whole season without people picking up on his inconsistency.

If he's not winning games off his own boot every few games I think the hype will wane.

If he is then I think he'll deserve the Rising Star award.

I think you are right, get used to the idea that the media will give more recognition to NN than they will to any of our lads for their entire careers

Trenners is a year behind him and is the player you would prefer to have by so, so much IMO

congrats jack...this wouldn't have been possible if the entire team wasn't playing as such a strong unit.

clearly trengove and scully are making each other better players as well as the rest of the team....it was an interesting comment that the fox commentator made about macca...how scully and trengove are giving him a renewed energy or words to that affect..congrats again!

Agree the hype surrounding Nic Nat is huge but in my opinoun mostly unheralded. He was awesome against the bombers (and who hasn't been?) but stats wise his other 4 games have been average at best.

JT has improved each and every week. Let's hope it continues

I don't think Nic Nat will win the rising star. I believe the other clubs will work out how to beat him.

That is assuming that the fix from HQ isn't already in place. Remember that article regarding the texts from on high?

Naitanui was fairly average against the Swans, as has been said consistency will be his greatest challenge.

Well done Jackson Trengrove.

Unbelievable isn't it? I'm concerned now that he's making a name for himself, that it's going to continue his whole career. What's it going to take? An explanation at the brownlow?

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
