In absence of either area expertise or the facts I am not sure most supporters would have a clue.

Surely there has been enough experience with player injuries in past year to know that if its a XXXX injury its not always a set number of weeks.

I think the biggest issue for Jurrah besides his shoulder is if he does not have AFL football what does a guy from the remotest part of Australia have to connect him to big city life? It was football that got him here and I hope we can hold him.

Thats not like you RR, in one breath you're saying "In absence of either area expertise or the facts.." then in the next you're talking about him leaving without and expertise or facts. From what Rubeboy has said in the past he is a very driven man and wants to carve out a special career at Melb and he is here on Walpiri business to do just that.

this has Sean charles written all over it

How so? Liam has Davey, Wonna, Benny and the Jet as a support network at the club where as Sean basically had nothng of the sort and had some very unlucky injuries. He kept breaking his wrist or thumb then shattered his leg horribly while playing for Carlton.

Isn't it obvious Cards13??

They're both talented aboriginal footballers.

They're therefore identical in every way and would certainly have the same personalities and deal with every sort of adversity in exactly the same fashion.

Charles got his wrist infected I believe because he went against doctors orders not to go swimming in the Murray River or similar. That was the beginning of the end.

I mean really. Comparing Liam Jurrah to Sean Charles is an appallingly ignorant generalisation.

Liam is from one of the remotest parts in the country. Sean is from 70km out of Melbourne.

Nothing to add to the earlier reports. Liam is recovering well and expected back for the second half of the season. I am very [censored] off that I won't be able to see him take on the Pies this week, but will most likely have to wait to see that next year.

Sorry you all had to read so much into my comment. I just recall a really talented aboriginal footballer coming on to the scene and creating a lot of excitement before breaking down with injury early in his career and never being able to deliver on his talent. I was just speculating that, given our seemingly endless injury curse, that maybe the same fate awaits LJ.

Please spare me all the micro-analysis and innuendo.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
