Having not been to any games this season yet, i only have limited knowledge to talk about this topic, but i think Brad Green needs to played as a permanent forward. Whether it be out of the goal square or 30m out. He is our best kick at goal and i think is wasted on the wing or half back for a number of reasons.

By having him on a wing he is slowing the development of a Trengove, Grimes or Scully, and if he plays across half back he is hindering Bennell's and Cheneys development. We have enough leaders in the back line to guide these younger guys and its out forward line that really needs a leader and a target.

I always thought the best way to build a side was key positions FF to FB,,then work from there. But we havent had

that luxury. The backline is pretty much settled,Bailey seems to have the amo to start throwing a few around in the midfield.

I'm sure he will have that settled very soon.

Then its our forwards. Probably Green looks the best optionat FF.

Unless one of the talls starts to grab some contested marks. I expect the new guys to be in and out.

Its just going to take time,injuries play a big part.

Just hope Davey isnt down the back. He is another avenue to goal. Baileys' on the big bucks,be interesting to see how it pans out.

If you must post then can you stop posting the rubbish you thus far have been coming up with. Watch Miller's efforts for a whole match and you just can't find fault with him. Sure he is not the best forward but no one else in our team is either. If you were to take him out of the side as you suggest can you tell me which experienced big bodied player will replace him. Now think before you answer or just use the one I will provide. There is no one else. Stop harking on about Miller. He will be superseded when Watts, Bate, Jurrah and potentially Petterd have developed into a cohesive unit. Even then he may remain in and become quite useful as he draws lesser backmen and is no longer the sole focal point.

As for Robbo, He is done and dusted and rightly so. Time to move on.

If he doesn't get a kick in RND1 then I would either go small or go with the ruckman or Watts. It may not work but it's better to try something than continually go with Miller when he rarely performs.

The right call was made on Robbo and i'm glad he won't be wasting space in our forward line this season,give those games to a youngster.

Our forward line is weak,mainly through inexperience.

Miller and Newton havent shown the same goalkicking ability

No doubting they are trying,but they arent cutting it atm.

Ask yourself who have we got that another team would select

to play in their forward setup, if you struggle,then maybe Robbo should have stayed on.

He's got good height, decent pace and was originally recruited as a forward. He also has the benefit of having played good footy on some good forwards in his memory banks. With Warnock, Frawley, Rivers & Joel Mac down back he should be given significant game time forward of the centre in 2010.

Hopefully they don't use him like ND did Brad Miller a few years ago chopping and changing him forward and back constantly. For mine that severely hindered Brads' development and dented his confidence...permanently.

Miller for all his faults: Gives his utmost for the Red and Blue(You don't see him bludging around the field and not chasing),encourages his team mates,will stick up for his team mates in any situation,does some very strong forward leading,tackles hard,puts his body on the line and more.

Now that is a player that you would love to coach! At the end of the day regardless of what we ,the posters , think the coaching staff recognise value of having Miller in the team and it's their decision that counts.

I think Miller will be a regular contributor for the team up forward this year assisting with Bate, Jurrah, etc for collective results, I'm not expecting any individual brilliance from him, although it would be most welcome. i think we can all agree on that.

Where the hell is DUNN?

I saw him doing sprints with the rehab group last week, obviously has had a niggle and getting over it. On a brighter note I went down to the junction today and saw Watts doing full on sprints for about a half hour. He ran himself into the ground. He also did a little bit of kicking and marking on the lead. He looked fine to me and wouldn't be surprised If he played Nab 4.

The mids were out doing some drills, missing was Sylvia and Moloney and obviosly Morton.

Our forward structure has really been the cause of our destruction over the last few years. Recruitment staff should have seen it comming along way off. Mind you, Smith turned out to be a dud, Molan had two dodgy knees and Daniher couldn't get enough of the likes of Pickett, Hefferman and so on.

I am not sure who our forwards will be apart from Jurrah and Bate and Watts if he is ready.

There is no big body players that can fill a key position.

Jamar (After the Ess game) has made No1 ruck his own.

Made easlier with most of the others injured.

He cant be everywhere at once,but IF PJ gets fit,or IF Spencer can at least hold their own for a QTR, I wouldnt mind

seeing Jamar have a spell up forward,to add some height.

He's not questioning Miller's effort but your acceptance of his effort as a basis for being in an AFL team.

I'd swap LJ and Wona around personally. I think the more room you give Jurrah the better, while Wona's fitness isn't really good enough to be pushing up the ground.

I'd be happier swapping Petterd and Wona if anything. I think Jurrah's opportunistic style of play suits the pocket, and based on what we've seen in the last two matches his fitness could also be called into question.
