Bad day. Simple.

Any more questions?

He had a bad day, but the Cramp problem bothered me..

Question.....Was that LJ's first interstate Match for the MFC?

Yep. His worst game by a long way, the only way is up. Impossible to read anything else into it.

I hope it was just a really bad day, maybe didn't sleep well or something. The other options would be injury or attitude. Either of those would be a terrible thing, so I think I'll join the "shocking day" camp rather than consider them.

He played against Sydney and Brisbane. Out of the 9 games he's played, 5 have been against interstate teams. He hasn't played Adelaide yet.

Really, i can only recall MCG and the airport that he played. Although my memories of last season are rather dim, i have tried to erase the memory to some degree.

I thought he may have had an off game because of travel. But obviously it was just an off game. Thanks.

Rumour has it he had a finger injury at training, possibly a fracture which would explain the dropped marks. He also started off last year pretty slowly, at times in the VFL didnt look close to debuting for the dees but found form quickly. I wouldnt worry.

I saw him play in Canberra last year against the swans. Did some magical things then limped off at half time and was not seen again until well into the last quarter. I was one of the few demon supporters there but was asked a number of times by Swans supporters "who is this guy? where did HE come from?" such was his impact on the game when he was up and firing. At his best he is one of our few game breakers

There is a rumour that he is in his 2nd year of AFL football and may be like any other young footballer and has bad days. Remember this is only a rumour and yet to be substantiated by the Club.......

Relax. 2nd year player in his 10th senior game puts in a shocker up forward as team gets pounded. What?

Jurrah is human and he is going to have memorable days and crud days. Sunday was one of the latter.

I read somewhere he had a bung finger.

He dislocated or broke his finger in the intraclub game.

Wasn't there a rumour a couple of hours before the game that he wasn't going to play? I think that there is more to it than he just had a bad game. There was something amiss IMO. He didn't have the usual LJ energy, not that he was helped by the amount or quality of the ball coming into the forward line.

he'll be right. he was as lost the other day as the rest of the team. he will be targeted more ths year for sure, but it'll be a good test for him, i'm sure he'll show us some magic again. as u aussies say 'she'll be right!'

He Difinetly went off injured in the intra club match i'm not sure why but he came back on. I think its a combination of ONE bad game and the fact its only Feb. I personally am not worried how he performs now as long as by round 1 he is fit an firing.

i noticed his fingers were taped together on one hand.

He definitely looked lethargic though and the cramping was strange.

Being the only forward didnt suit him at all. I doubt he will ever be a workhorse type forward constantly leading up etc.

Posted

I'm worried RR, that's one bad game in a row!

He definitely had a few fingers taped together and it looked like it'd be pretty difficult to work with.

I blame the previous administration for this problem. B)

I blame "Elastoplast"

I just hope he lifts his work rate, as it was shocking last week.

Rubbish. He was run all over the forward line by their backs. He's not a stand alone FF and in his 10th game after 1 preseason he is still coming to grips with the game at this level. The fact is he was buggered from all the running around in circles he ended up doing. This will improve with time and experience.

Not rubbish at all mate. Were you there?

He was lazy and dis-interested.

I was on a wing and as most d's supporters would probably do, I had 1 eye on Liam Jurrah.

He was run all over the FL by their backs?? Thats what you do in footy, run and chase.

LJ hardly did either.

Maybe it was the dislocated finger, maybe he was just crook - but he didnt want to be out there.

It was obvious, no use trying to defend it..

Im sure he'll be back to his best in no time, whatever the problem was.

I think LJs one weakness long term will be mental. I dont think he likes the 'mental physical' stuff - when your opponent pushes you around gets in your face and roughs you up a bit - all part of footy - but I dont think LJ likes it at all!

Seen it before once or twice, but it clearly put him off on sunday night..

Has anyone noticed that?

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. TRAINING: Wednesday 13th November 2024

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
