1st Game at Bankstown

Just tuned into the Swans vs Blues game.

"Sold Out", looks like pretty much a full house of around 10,000 or 20,000 I think they said. Looks like a slightly upgraded Casey set up. The ground is in a bowl so the fans a basically sitting on a small hill with the ground below them, would be great veiwing.

Mclean looks really fit but expecting the same run all day but one paced game, Lauchie Henderson is the one I'm interested to see play who came to Blues from Brissie for old pissy pants Fevola

PS $105 cab fair from the "city" to Bankstown. A little bit less than from Melbourne city to Cranbourne...

Cheers wasn't sure it was..

HAHAHAHHA train went past and blew it's horn... Ump's thought it as the siren and stopped the game with 50 seconds to go in 1st!!!!

McLean's been garbage for Carlton so far. Probably only 5 touches and having no impact. Looked tired late in the second qtr when he tried to make a tackle but the Swan player brushed him aside.

I know I'm a sounding like a bit of a sourpuss but I hope he becomes an epic failure for Carlton.

with any luck BM CJ can both play against us. Sad thing is it wont be aginst the red + blue, we will probably have to go to casey to see it!

Mclean looks appalling in that jumper, playing about as well

The train going by in the first Q was a dead set classic.

Reminded me of 87 out at the Western Oval! :)

2 touches and 3 tackles, kirk is toweling him... I'm trying to figure out how I had an obsession with him?

hahah didn't he, it was Goodes but still he looked F'd!!! Same old Macca, can run and run and run around the tan but on game day he looks like the titanic working it's way around a 'berg

Geez i wish we had recriuted the young Lewis Jetta 2 years ago....Bad mistake FD.

2 goals in 5 mins in 3rd term........ But it is a bit tough to take a relatives recommendation on the next big thing...

Because he was a Dee's player, high draft pick, hard at it, in and under. Unfortunately as some have mentioned it seems (always a caveat) the game might (another one as it is NAB cup) have passed him by with the pace needed for the "modern" game.

That siren is dead awful.

Have to say, I don't think much of Henderson. He didn't show a hell of a lot tonight. Kreuzer didn't do much in the forward line either. Given how bad O'Hailpin's kicking is, I think they're in real trouble this year.

Henderson improved late in the game, but yeah they're gonna have trouble finding consistency in their forward line if players like Fisher, Kreuzer and others can't get the ball when it goes up there. Young Yarran was good for the blues though

As Dennis Cometti is want to say, "Never moon a werewolf". McLean is renowned for being shut-down be a taggers; Kirk would have just said quitely to himself "See how many kicks you get now, mate".

Without really wanting to talk about McLean. I did watch some of this game, because I wanted to see the surrounds of the ground and how many turned up.

I did notice after the game Kirk had a few choice words for McLean. Fwiw, each to their own, but if a player such as Kirk offered his hand before a game, I'd shake it.

Also heard during the commentary Robert Walls comment that McLean looked somewhat stuffed (3rd quarter). I thought back to the post where someone commented that Brock came first in the time trial around Princess Park in the pre-season. Certainly no "walk in the park" when it comes to playing the game.

Yeap as stated if I can read lips along the lines of "you won't shake my hand??"

Then after the game Kirk "Yea now you'll shake my had.."

I don't think a sold out game with Sydney is all that to brag about. I mean, if Brisbane was playing on the Gold Coast, they would could a pretty decent crowd. And Blacktown is way more closer to Sydney than GC is to Brisbane.

Then after the game Kirk "Yea now you'll shake my had.."

Kirk would not have said that!!

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
