The Draw

Featured Replies

Didn't say we didn't (deserve it), if that makes sense. Just remembering that it got worse after from the initial draft.

Yes our fixture will probably get worse after the Draft is tinkered with. At Present there are about 12-13 clubs with more Fixture Clout than Us. Over the Past 3 Years we have been a Marketing Night Mare from the AFL's point of view.

Granted The Club is being Proactive & working towards fixing all this, but at present we are nothing more than potential.

The Fact we kept our Queens Birthday Home game is a bloody Miracle, & i am stoked & for that one reason.

We also get a Home Friday Night Game.

Considering our onfield Form the AFL has looked after us very well

"Musn't Grumble"

62,000 people on a rainy day isnt to bad, it will be 80,000 in 2yrs time, we kept that game for a reason, weve wiped 4 mill debt AND have record membership, the AFL are aplauding the mfc supporters for sticking loyal in tough times, your a fuddy duddy WYL.

... That's a depressing quote. Ill shut up now.

I've just been supporting this Great old club longer than you DJC. You were the same person who called Cameron schwabb an idiot on another thread last week were you not.

Without CS as the CEO right now this club could well be in recievership-so please get your facts right.

As long as Essendon and Collingwood keep their fabricated ANZAC day match, we should hold our QB match.

you ramble on, without the supporters this club would be in receivership, they come up with ideas, its the supporters that followed them thru,so please get your facts rite.

Yes & that's why we were $8 mill + & spiralling downhill in debt last year Before Jimma & CS took over control. They are the Facts.

and who payed the debt, the supporters.

$5m?

it got up to $8 mill from what i heard if all the Interest Payments were factored. The Debt was Ballooning by the hour for a while there.

If it was never paid, our debt would've been $10m plus.

I still want answers about this however. It seemed that every year we posted profits - yet suddenly it was revealed we were 5 million in debt. How did this happen? Were we lied to? Was the club so incompetent it couldn't run its books properly?

Yes the Supporters paid a large slab...But who got us all fired & passionate to actually do that. Jim Stynes & Cameron Schwabb along with the new board.

Up until PG left this club was in free fall. Even Demetrio said that we stood for nothing in the AFL's eyes.

So yes thing have improved, But we still have actually done Nothing. It's all potential at this stage- Anyone who does not follow MFC still thinks we are a waste of space who are easybeats.

We are bloody lucky to have Queens Birthday next year purely in terms of TV RATINGS around Australia.

The AFL could make a lot more potential Money using a Big Victorian club against Collingwoos than us on that day. Thankfully they Haven't but until we start winning we have nothing to complain about.

I think the Large Pokie Deal we had on the other side of town, which fell through did not help. I also wonder about the Joe Gutnick years (Not just Joe but all who were involved) The Finances from there were handed on to the PG board.

Always been a bit cloudy those years....Losing the MCC was always going to cause problems so i am just stoked that Bridge has been mended.

"Dee's win over horrible hawks as Watts lights up the G"

This may seem an odd question, but where are you getting this information? I've been looking around and can't find a fixture anywhere. When is it due to be released to the public?

Im hearing we play the Bulldogs in our only Friday night game in Rd 7, and we have like 7 of the first 8 games at the G and we only have 5 interstate games from a very good source.

Good to get a home Friday night game, but I was hoping it would be against a high drawing club!

Agreed, when you look at memberships, we pulled ahead of the Dogs by almost 3300 members. Doesn't give much confidence in a Friday Night Blockbuster with 60-70K bums on seats...

Not that I'm complaining. Any exposure is a good thing, I just want more!

If there is a Friday night game against WB, chances are it will be at the Darklands and not the MCG.

At the moment any information on fixturing is merely flaky speculation, rumour and poster wishlists.

I'd wait for the facts on this

as far as i'm aware, the a draft of the draw has been put to the clubs for consideration, & the final draw will be released to the public at the end of the month.

Your wrong RR, i can tell you that the information that i posted is 100%. hawks, pies in rnd 1 and 2, both at the g. it is correct the dee's have the dogs on R7 Friday night and we will finish the season in Melbourne, possibly the last game of the year! (twilight).

they are the facts.

Just like everyone else who claims they're 100% accurate and they are the facts. At the moment your comments are unsubstantiated and are as valid as a rumour until substantiated. That is a fact. ;)

Dont care less about anyone else = Fact

It's a good thing you wont have to wait to long to see i am correct.

One thing you learn after being around footy forums for a long time is that there are a large number of people who claim to have 100% accurate information and it turns out they don't. You might very well be right; but you have to understand that we've all heard the "my information is 100% correct" line a million times before. Don't take it personally if people are skeptical, and save your energy by not getting defensive, as it just makes you look like a goose. If you're right, the proof will be in the results.

Agree. If Demon 3 is proven right then fine. Its a tick for his credibility. However the preponderance of carp posted as fact on forums earns the highest caveat emptor warning.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
