Addam Maric – When he did play, he showed some real improvement, although he has a long way to go. We've been working with him on the defensive part of his game as well. He is a very good kick and he is a good inside-50 player. He showed in his six games that he has class. He just needs to get fitter over the summer to maintain a higher work-rate – Sean Wellman on Melbournefc.com.au

Slow start but I have great ideas for this kid.

Great skills and balance.

I want this kid to be able to run 15k a game and become a fantastic inside/outside midfielder.

I think he can be an elite mid.

I also had high hopes for this kid - hasn't had a chance to show his skills, in his first year due to school and age, and this year due to injury.

I would see him as a crumbing forward rather than a mid - may be getting a bit crowded in there! Lets hope so anyway.

Im still quite sure that barring injuries this kid will take strides next year. With the likes of Jurrah and Watts around him he ought to get many opportunites to show the rest why some of us rate him highly :)

arguably the most talented on our list, a superb kick and vision is great.

Off the radar for a while, he just has a real poise about him that I like.

He will have that breakout year as soon as he gets his body right. He is quality.

Another of the list of recruits previously drafted who have not played a lot - Blease, Watts, Strauss, Wonna to name a few.

How are we going to give them all a run and put in Trengove, Scully etc for a run in 2010?

good times ahead.

I see him being a very dangerous forward line player, similar to a Porplyzia/ LeCras or maybe even a Steve Johnson.

His set shots bit disappointed with this year, which we hope he will be one of the best in the comp, he has great skill and decision making.

Plus he's one of the hottest players on the list. Premiership player no doubt.

I see a bit of Aker about him. He is good overhead, kicks well, reads the play and has a nice burst of pace. Whether he works as hard as Aker did to get where he is today is another question. High hopes for Addam.

A slow start to Addam's career, but with limited opportunities he has shown glimpses of why he was taken fairly high in the draft (good poise and balance, disposal and looks for the best option). Not sure I see him progressing to the stellar levels that some posters above have earmarked him for, but if he can add consistency to his game (I recall a couple of 'shockers' in '09), improve his engine, and continue to work on the defensive side of his game, I think he can be a very good player for the Melbourne Footy Club. Next year will be a very important year for his development.

Yep. The balance is great. He'll stay in more contests that most players and that alone is gold.

This is where I have him pencilled in, and I think this is far more likely than an inside/outside mid.

Not convinced about Maric yet he's got a great upside but I haven't seen things that excite

me in the same way say Grimes has gone about it.

Needs to lift and get a regular position in the team before i can say if he is gonna be any good.

wow there is a lot of love here for a kid that hasnt done or shown much. that quote is a pretty damning assessment from the coaches.

he has talent obviously but until he shows it, he is no different from any other youngster on the list.

currently not top 22, and is still someway off given his performances and where the coaching staff see him at.

Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
