Intersting that we havent heard confirmation of the Brock deal.. Must , to me , mean theres more associated with it now with interest in Buckley and Bell.

SYDNEY has confirmed the three-team deal, which sees them lose Amon Buchanan and get Eagles ruckman Mark Seaby. In the same deal, the Lions get Buchanan and Brent Staker and lose Bradd Dalziell to the Eagles.

Hawks (Pelchen) are very smart and seem to find the Roos easy prey every time.

No, Hawks just prefer to trade for what they need, they don't seem to like their chances of getting anything they need out of the draft. If they do the Burgoyne deal, their first draft pick will be fourth round, unless they're prepared to trade some tempting players. North knew they'd lost Gibson anyway and prefer to draft for what they need. It's a classic win-win because both have different preferences, unless you think that Gibson's a gun player who's worth a first round pick.

Let's be honest though, their list as is is very strong, they should be pushing top 4 next year despite this year's failure. They also have a few good young players (Schoenmakers, Moss, Shiels) and their list was the youngest this year. It might bite them in the bum in 4 or 5 years time, but I think they're doing the right thing in terms of seeking a second premiership.

Oh..its open...but it wouldnt want to get stuck or broken or it might get a bit chilly there when next winter rolls around. :D

The rules were changed this year. Rookie upgrades now count as part of the mandatory three additions. I'm not sure there's a minimum number you have to draft anymore.

Essentially Hawks have picked him up for 2nd rounder ... good deal for them thats a good price in this draft.

I agree - good draft picks are a means to an end, not the end themselves.

The 'end' is winning a flag and established players are more likely to to help the Hawks win their next flag sooner than draftees.
