Just heard a rumour that Essendon are sending Lovett to Freo for theyre pick number 4,Ess are then giving pick 4 to Port for Burgoyne.Counts us out of the Burgoyne deal unless we give up 1 or 2 which i pray to god we wont.Would rather us get a kid than him anyway

11 for Burgoyne?

Why would Freo want Lovett over possibly Morabito? Doesn't sound right to me, Lovett is not worth pick 4!

Agree. There seems to be some real talent in the early picks.

Thats crap! Lovett Pick 4. Youre got to be joking. I would only take Burgoyne in the PSD. But would prefer Essendon or the Hawks to take him.

Correct.

Fremantle may have a history of doing this but it has to end at some stage.

They won't do that trade.

Surely not...

Actually one might have said, 'Lovett isn't worth pick 40! ;)

For pick 4 straight swap? No, that's simply not credible.

But I'll get behind anything that keeps Burgoyne away from us, it's nothing personal I just really don't see it as appropriate.

Agree with you on the Burgoyne to us stuff, that doesn't really work for me at all......

And as for Pick 4 for Lovett, I think this can just be put down as yet another in what will be a long and entertaining line of nonsense between now and the end of trade week.

This rumour has no logic to it and is thus bs.

No way Freo would give up pick 4 for Lovett. Who in their right mind........ not even Freo.

Personally I think their is some chance we will either pick up Lovett or Davey with pick 18.

I also believe that there is a about a 25% chance the Burgoyne will slip through to the PS Draft. Hawthorn will have to bend over backwards to get the Burgoyne trade done on both a salary cap and trade level.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
