Thanks for the weblink - live video. Excellent quality.

Central look far too fast and clean. Trengove has had a couple of touches I've seen, including a nice contested mark. He's lacking in support though, and large chunks of time pass where he's not on the screen at all.

It won't hurt his development one bit though this game.

Trengove just fumbled at centre half back, leading to a turnover and goal. Ouch. He had a fairly simple gather and it bounced of his thigh straight into the hands of the opposition.

BTW - I really like this kid and would be more than happy if the Dees take him - I'm just giving an honest account of what's happening. He's 18 y/o FCS, and he looks to be the type who will become an excellent footballer - Just don't sit at home thinking his selection will make a big impact on 2010 b/c he's got some work to do, just like any 18 y/o. I suspect Scully will be in a similar boat, as will Blease, Strauss, and Watts has already shown the same.

My point is... let's not offload too many of our experienced players for these top 20 picks. I think we have enough picks, and don't want MFC to err on the side of putting too many kids on the ground next year - it could be ugly.

Update - Trengove misses his target by foot - turnover. Hope he can do something to up his confidence.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
