Not Bad, i would even have us higher than sydney myself. Worth a few $$$ that one.

That win by the Roos will shorten their odds for sure...

I was about to say....very juicy odds at $101....

Same with Hawthorn and Essendon, I reckon. Geelong a bit short, I think their decline will begin next year.

Hawks at $17 is value

is it? haha only if they win!

I think those odds are too short myself

I'd have us at better odds than West Coast personally. No way they are in a better position that us. Probably Sydney as well. And the Bulldogs aren't going to win anything with their list the way it is now.

where is this listed on Centrebet ?? cant see it...do you need to have to log in ??

On a somewhat related note, did anyone hear the story about the guy who placed a $1000 bet pre-season on Hawthorn to miss the finals. Was given a price of $1000. That's a $1 million win. Wonder how he felt at half time on Saturday.

WHAT! Half those odds are total Rubbish. Demons are well worth a punt on that scale. Port 41's-that's insane. Richmond above us???

Where did you hear this titan? The Hawks would have been long odds to miss the 8 at the start of the season, but 1000-1 is ridiculous. Which bookmaker gave those odds? Crazy.

Eesus. Wish I had've seen those odds.

Took my mad Hawthorn supporter mate to the grand final last year as I had a spare ticket and told him at the end of the day to soak it up cos they'd miss the finals the following year.

Every time I speak to him he reminds me how I was right and he thought I was an idiot.

Funny cos I don't even remember saying it!

Yeah, simply by weight of numbers I can't imagine any bookie worth their salt offering that.

They know their figures.

Who would offer 1000-1?

Sounds silly. We were those odds to win the premiership, surely the odds would've been shorter than that usually.

Hawks at $17 is value

Good luck... Hope you saved your money there old55.

Just a story I've heard from a couple of people. Since I haven't yet seen it pop up in the news anywhere, it may well be completely false. But it sounds good.

Have also heard this mate or a mate's mate story - Even had details of how the booky offered to buy back the bet for $500k...

Urban Legend I suspect.

Yeah. Harsh on the Roos.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
