Lucas is being criminally underrated in this exercise.

In his prime he was an absolute superstar.

I'll never forget his 7 goal last quater v WCE in hird's last match

Plugger called to say hi...

Plugger was totally brilliant but he didn't play enough september for mine. Dunstall & Ablett Snr were there regularly.

It's true, Dunstall was the best forward I've ever seen, and Plugger and Ablett snr were better than anyone in this ten. What a freak time for forwards?

Rank these 10 tall forwards (alright some didn't play their entire career fwd but maybe that makes them rate higher) who have recently retired or are getting close ...

My rankings are for the players in their career as forwards, rather than their overall career. This pushes Grant and Neitz a bit down the list.

Very respectful Ash. :D I like it.

People here claim the whole "in his day Lucas was a star" thing. But that's true of everyone of those players. In fact pretty much all of them had a three-year run there where they were in their prime. Neitz 2002-04, Tredrea his premiership year as well as the year after and before. Hall the WC/Sydney rivalry years, Robbo had 3 sparse ones but was still well and truly in their company.

    Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded.     THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

    Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was.
