Tassie what?

At first I was against what the Gold Coast did in having no official moniker, but maybe that's the best way to do it. To let a name which typifies the club just form naturally. At least then it has some meaning.

Otherwise it just comes out of some market research company, and you're left with something hollow like the 'Power' or the 'Force'.

The Tasmanian Devils are a thing of the past; how about the Tasmanian Tumors.

IT'S NOT A TUMOUR.

or could they go with something like the 'southern sharks?' or tasman somethings? rather than tasmania...

southern stars? with a southern cross on the jumper? doesn't sound great to me but the type of thing the afl would go for.

i'd prefer to see the afl stick with traditional type team names, 2-3 colours with big broad jumpers (stripes, sashes etc), and a song that is recorded by with about 10 blokes singing and a brass band backing it.

The Mighty Convicts!

No sash on the jumper - just a diagonal chain.

Obviously Tassie Tigers, when Richmond relocate!!

I've got it:

The Tasmanian Demetrious - it could be the only way Tassie get a team

Tasmania Inbreeds

(Sorry to any Tasmanian's)

I reckon so...and theTaswegians are now quite progressive and well groomed, so how about we go left field and call them the "Brazilians"?

Quite obviously they should be called the Gunns, as they seem to run the rest of Tasmania.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
