Bartram - tought day for him, well done on being there. Played poorly but that is secondary.

Bate - needs more agility

Bennell - most promising youngster so far

Bruce - never gave up...

Davey - Our best. All-Australian form.

Dunn - tried hard again

Frawley - next Sam Fisher?

Jetta - still developing

Johnson - worst player ever

Jones - played hard but has a lot of improvement to go with his disposal and split-second decision-making

Martin - super prospect. Solid.

McDonald - tried hard. Great goal. Working his way back.

McLean - getting better each week.

Meesen - must play all season

Miller - should've taken five more marks, and kicked three.

Moloney - becoming one of our best

Morton - we need to remember that's he's still only a second-year player.

Newton - not an AFL footballer.

Petterd - worked hard, looking ok.

Rivers - working his way back to his best

Sylvia - rarely sighted

Warnock - solid.

Think some posters are a bit harsh of the following players as they competed pretty hard IMO:

Mcdonald

Petterd

Morton

I think Morton is coming along beautifully and is looking very composed under pressure at times given his age and lack of AFL experience.Very promising player.

I also thought Jones deserves a special mention for his unrelenting "in and under" work. His disposal may have not been 100% at times but gee he worked hard to get the ball and would have been a very tired boy at the end of the game.

Courageous effort by Bartram.Condolences to him and his family.

Bartram - abysmal handling skills

Bate - waste of......

Bartram - MUST improve offensively

Bate - Played wrong position

Bennell - Continues solid form

Bruce - Fell into trap

Davey - Class skill pace

Dunn - Should be forward

Frawley - Our best defender

Jetta - Needs more development

Johnson - Fear the "Pencil"

Jones - Tried but wasteful

Martin - crucial let up

McDonald - no enough leadership

McLean - Tried but wasteful

Meesen - A walking comedy

Miller - Cant direct players

Moloney - Worked and succeeded

Morton - Provides run, options

Newton - Needs to reload

Petterd - Almost a star

Rivers - Absolutely a star

Sylvia - better than perceived

Warnock - solid without starring

Just a little more about Johnson. He should be dropped. That was without doubt his worst performance for the season. His nickname is Hightower but the character which he is named after rips seats out of cars with his bare hands. PJ couldnt rip toilet paper off the roll.

Johnson - just shocking overall

Jones - good at stoppages

Martin - a bright prospect

McDonald - better than others

McLean - much improved effort

Meesen - better than Jamar

Miller - unseen all game

Moloney - another sterling effort

Newton - please drop him

Krazy Jay and Adelaide demon how can you call yourself demon "supporters"? Leave Johnson alone, he was no way the worst out there and your not the coach, so your rubbising comments mean jack. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but you have nothing to back up what you said...have a look at the stats and then make your comments. So called supporters like you do nothing for a team, the team needs people to get behind them, not ppl who do nothing and rubbish the players...

I support all of our players unless there is a serious reason not to. The reason with Paul Johnson is that he is not good enough to be playing in our side. His skill level is atrocious, he crumbles under any sort of pressure, and when he does get his hands on the footy, more often than not he sells one his teammates in to trouble or gives it to the opposition. From what I can remember, he had one good kick on the weekend - and it was a beauty. I'd love it if he kicked like that 20 times a game, but he doesn't. And will never.

While it would be great to hear everyone yelling out "don't worry Paul, better luck next time. Well done for trying.", this is not objectively analysing the situation. From an objective standpoint, Johnson is clearly a liability in our side and should be dropped. It does not bring my support in to question to say such a thing.

The fact that a lot of us pay money to the club to become a member actually has nothing to do with our right to voice our opinion. We follow a footy club and we have thoughts on that footy club. We are allowed to have our opinions without our support being called in to question.

Honestly Joechild you have the skill of a rhino in a china shop and obviously no compasion. Fortunately the majority of posts display a great deal of maturity..recognizing the fact that for some time now the Batram family have been carrying a heavy load, especially in the last 2 weeks.

McDonald - Shouldn't be Captian

Are you serious mate?? He sets the standard for tackling and intensity and tries to inspire those around him.

Who would you have???

Adelaidedemon read what I wrote "everyone is entitled to your own opinion, but back it up" I see no stats or anything else to support your argument.

A liability, that's an absolutely ridiculous comment. I doubt someone who was leading the fairest and best til he was injured last year would be considered this, what an absolute joke. Also I believe he won the hit outs on the weekend, read up on your facts.

Leading the best-and-fairest? You're fkn kidding right? If that is true, that is a sad, sad indictment on our club in 2008. I don't know if it's true or not.

Stats for the weekend? Johnson's stats were posted in another thread, compared against Meesen's. Meesen had no hit-outs to advantage, Johnson had one. Johnson had SEVEN critical errors from 14 possessions. Do the stats on that. No contested marks. Fumbles. Nervousness. Lack of skill. That's why I thought he had a shithouse game and should be dropped. He adds nothing to the team. And "you believe he won the hitouts"?? I wouldn't call 15 hit-outs with one to advantage 'winning the hitouts'. And stats are beside the point anyway. You can have 100% kick-efficiency and no clangers and have a poor game. Johnson's averaging 12 hit-outs, 4 marks, 6 kicks, 5 handballs, and 2 tackles a game. For someone who is clearly not 'winning the hit-outs', he lacks any impact around the ground either. That's generally the trade-off for a ruckman - if you're no good at the tap, play as a ruck-rover and win it around the ground, and vice-versa. Johnson is neither good at the tap nor good around the ground. Jeff White was not great with the tap last year but he at least got his hands on the ball around the ground and passed it off to a team-mate more often than not. Johnson's 50% "critical error" rate on the weekend is testament to his lack of composure under pressure and his poor level of disposal.

Am I alone in thinking that Johnson is rubbish???

Nup. I can only think of a couple good games he has played and even then only in patches. He's just not up to it. The problem is that our only real hopes as ruckmen are Meeson and Spencer and both need time to develop.

Well Jeff White was DELISTED, so that speaks for iteself really...he was the most frustrating useless Ruckemen I have come across.

If you're implying that Paul Johnson is better than Jeff White, this is by far the worst comment I have ever read on the internet. Or ever heard or read or heard about.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res
