I was actually discussing this with my partner on the way home from work, we walk home and discuss the footy to clear out all the thoughts of how enjoyable our jobs are.

I think the size of our midfield last week, if we persevere with it could be an advantage, particularly if Dunn wanders in there now and again as well.

It is probably one of the breaks we need to build up the confidence further with perhaps the chance of another win.

Bailey seems to like horses for courses if he has the troops available.

Added to the fact that Meesen wants to put on a good show if we can batter the ball forward rather than finesse it we should have a good chance.

I've always believed wet weather only makes the skillful more skillful.

Twilight + rain = financial disaster

I don't really see the benefit to this. An inexperienced side will learn more from playing teams at their best than hoping the weather will 'bring them down to our level.'

iIt is not a matter of bringing them down to our level, it evens it up a bit, if we are able to grind out a win, it will different to last weeks..I am all for taking on a team at their best.....but it is a winter sport and apart from ETITELLAND stadium we could have four weekends of rain over the next four weeks..it is part of the development.......using you assets to best advantage to win.......we will have dry tracks to develop other methods.

We are not that abysmal as to bring them down to our level..........watching the weekends games then the Roos, Essendon, Freo and Hawthorn's backline at present must be pretty abysmal as well?

Great Post, I have always been one that believes that the wet shows the classy players skills even more. Trav is one that comes to mind playing in terrible conditions in rd 1 or 2 he dominated for bris, 1 hand pickups, silky finishing etc etc etc. Poor skills generally get worse when it is wet. Where i believe we have an advantage over adelaide is the big 22. He will smash em on water sodden ground look out for beamer!

try playing a game in that and then rushing into the ground to get the last 3/4

i said the same before on another thread. The only thing is if I remember correctly one of the best games juice played for us was agianst geelong last year in the wet under lights. Kicked one of the best goals from the pocket you'll ever see. I seem to think he did a few other good things too but can't say for sure. but I do agree Maric in. maybe leave him picked and maric as an emergency to keep the crows guessing and put maric in last minute before the game. Juice gets a bout of the windy hill flu that DB has brought with him!

We got beaten by 116pts.

I have just been on the BOM site. It is definitely going to be cold and wet. Most likely with regular heavy showers. The rain band should pass during Saturday night but it looks highly likely that there will still be plenty of rain around and the ground is likely to be about as heavy as the MCG gets after about 30mm of rain. (which is still not that heavy)

I disagree that the wet suits the crows, Melbourne's strength in the midfield is its in and under players, essentially all our midfielders are all of this bread. Moloney in particular is a proven wet weather specialist and could well dominate the game. Our weakness is our tall forwards (although both Juice and Miller performed last week). On a wet day the crows tall forwards are likely to be equally as inept, levelling the crows advantage in this area.

An under strength Melbourne destroyed a close to full strength Brisbane outfit. Moloney, Mac, Brook were our best. The same players I expect to play well on Sunday.

Juice needs to be rested for this game if the conditions are very wet, he will produce nothing and lose the little confidence he gained last week. He will struggle to even make a contest and we all know if he does take a mark he will not kick straight in the wet, windy conditions. Maric should be brought in his place. I would look to play a very small forward line. Perhaps bring Silvia to FF with short rotations on the ball.

I am tempted to change my tips to the Dees.

Heard Bailey this Morning talk about "Winning the Contested Ball" on Sunday in wet conditions. Team Trained this morning in the wet.

Good players still shine in wet weather. Good Platers keep their Feet & don't go to ground so much.

Less Fancy Hand ball More Kicks off the Ground, Goals are "Pure Gold" in Bad Weather, so Fight Hard Demons we can win. (i want 2 in a row) If i am to be cold & wet i at least want to be smiling.

Lets Hope people still roll up to the game as it is not on Free to Air.

Newton led the scorers with 3 goals in that game.

Doubt that lightning will strike twice though.
