Ditterich and Lockett - I don't think of them as tough. They tended to dish out the pain rather than put themselves in a position to be hurt.

Flower - Courageous, but not necessarily tough.

Ablett, Brereton, Carey, Archer and Matthews were all tough primarily because of their physique.

I remember watching Locket just choking blokes and ragdolling them silly and cheap shotting Caven at the SCG but don't think of him as tough.

Didn't see Dittch at all besides the glorious 80's videos.

Albett was a cheap pr! ck too, I remember him running through blokes backs more than anything else.

Dermie and Arch for mine. Dippa was a tough bugger. I used to play in a yearly charity event for Asthma charity and Dippa joined in each year. Ten pin bowling, 9 holes of golf followed by a knock out tennis tournie. The footy would come out during the tennis and Dippa to this day still smashes the biggest blokes we put up against him, his dislocated a finger one year, he popped it back in and kept going not a worry in the world.

I dont consider guys who played like thugs tough at all

1) why is Robbie Flower there?

2) best EVER - ok, it goes back to Carl Ditterich, there's 110 years of footy before that. Oh, and Ron a bit earlier, but he wasn't the toughest of his era. Mr Football was tougher wasn't he?

That's like celebrating 150 years of football and only including modern footballers in your legends of the club.

Don't get me wrong, I actually know Uncle Dip Dip and he is tough as nails... but i dislocate my finger and pop it back in & keep going a couple of times a year, often at training. Its nothing special.

Even Tadhg Kenelly used to pop his shoulder back in a couple of times a game, which I rate a bit higher.

Now playing a grand final out with broken ribs on the other hand...

Alan Jarrott was pretty tough. Remember him pumping fists into Leigh Matthews one day for cheap shotting Peter Giles.
