This match has huge competitive interest for me

We have the Dees on a mission to show some short sighted, ill informed folks of USA/Mexican origin that mission hitched their crusty tortilla wagon to the wrong horse, or mongrel dog, as it is in this case

We also have the former 324 game bulldogs star midfielder and seven times club best and fairest winner who, after being ingloriously sacked at seasons end last year by the very club he devoted his entire career to, is now our midfield coach and is certainly looking forward to working with what is a young and developing playing list

The Demons will also be looking to strut their stuff in front of a home crowd at their summer training base and home of their soon to be announced, and very much anticipated, VFL alignment team

Mark my words, there will be plenty to prove this week out at Casey Fields

Definitely a game not to be missed and a win is not mission impossible by any stretch of the imagination, no matter what those corn flour totin' folks from the good 'ol US of A think about our team and its prospects

Prediction; the Demons will wrap the doggies up tighter than a burrito full of refried beans

See you there for the Tortilla Cup!!!

Good post. You have whipped up my enthusiasm for a practice match.

I trust that ground management will act in true solidarity with the MFC and ban all Mexican food, wraps and other products from the Mission Foods range.

Otherwise they could have a revolt on their hands!

I'm going to head down there to check the game out.

Haven't been to a practice match in years. What's the go with entry? Can I get in with my AFL Members pass?

Now that there is a win under the belt, albeit against Brisbane in Cairns. I'm just hoping for no injuries this weekend.

The Casey Scorpions have secured another NAB Challenge match at 2pm on Saturday 14 March 2009.

They've also requested the AFL to schedule MFC as one of the partcipating teams if it is not playing in the NAB Cup Grand Final that night.

Are Taco's on the menue? Don't mind a little Mexican Tartillo. ;)

In the circumstances we don't want to be too kind or friendly to the Bulldogs or their sponsor. How about calling it the Dodgy Tortilla Cup?

It shouldn't be mentioned at all when we don't have a sponsor especially a turd of a product like that. It's appropriate that they are the Dogs sponsor cause that is exactly what it is dog food. Our sponsor will be by far a more awesome product than that rubbish.

The Tortilla Cup. Very funny. I'll amend the topic.

I just noticed that Whispering_Jack on Demonology had already coined the phrase tortilla cup

oops, no theft intended

Tortilla Cup....

Dodgy Tortilla Cup.....

In the end it makes no difference.

Hang on a minute.........mmmm...refried beanz......you know what that meanz?

That's right..........."He who farts last farts loudest" or something like that.

Seriously, a win this week will make Rodney 'The king of the flood' Eade look like a goose given his comments about his team in the media this week.

I'll be there the bugle along with a Grand Old Flag.

Go Dees - Gassing up for the season ahead.

Dodgy is good. The latest AFL membership figures show that we're ahead of the Bulldogs in membership numbers despite the fact that the AFL has pronounced them healthy.

Come on Demon fans - especially those in the Casey area. Join up on Saturday in big numbers and show those dodgy tortilla salesmen that they made a dodgy decision when they shafted us:-

West Coast Eagles 47,728 (44,863)

Hawthorn 40,926 (41,366)

Collingwood 34,038 (42,498)

Essendon 33,970 (41,947)

Carlton 30,821 (39,360)

Geelong 27,400 (36,850)

Richmond 27,171 (30,820)

St. Kilda 23,597 (30,063)

Port Adelaide 23,537 (34,185)

Melbourne 21,986 (29,619)

Brisbane 20,805 (22,737)

North Melbourne 20,020 (32,600)

Western Bulldogs 19,157 (28,306)

Adelaide n.a (48,720)

Fremantle n.a (43,366)

Sydney n.a (26,721)

Official final 2008 numbers in brackets

No surprise - it was the same last year, despite the vastly different on-field fortunes of the two sides.

Can't wait for this game.

I'll be making the trip to Casey Fields with My Father and my (almost) two year old son for the day. Should be a great day.

Looking forward to a great game, and a win at the end of course!

I'm hoping that there will be a good turn out and that there will be alot of focus on the kids and recruitment of members. I have to get one for the newborn too!

Add that to the telly guys!

i dont mean to sound like a dumbass but whats with the tortilla cup??

Dazzle, This is in reference to the Mission Foods sponsorship.

They are a distributor of foods, namely so Mexican foods. Hence the name, "Tortilla Cup".

Too right NJ

It will be a belter especially if we roll them

There are a chance of Thunderstorms on the Saturday morning, so that may keep a few people away, at least we know we can win in such conditions!

I'll be there for sure. Its handy for Gipplanders!! hope they have a few more games out here. Its going to be a bit like suburban games from bygone eras. Should be great

What's the go I thought there would be a bit more media for this game. Has there been anything in the Cranbourne newspapers?

I'll second that Banter. Much easier!

I'm hoping that the MFC's growth in the Casey Corridor will also extend down our way also. I would have never gone to a pre-season match otherwise, but now that the action is closer, I'm more than happy to make the trip.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
