i don't rate this draft

while the first 6 or so players should be great players, i'm a bit unsure about this draft in terms of where our picks are at

pick 1- Watts (Good)

pick 17 and pick 19 - options are zaharakis(good)

Cornelius (too slow)

Swift (injury concerns)

Steven Hill(bad foot skills under pressure)

Lisle( Bell-like awareness)

Heyne (poor kicking action)

keeping in mind that Johnston, sidebottom, hartlett, ziebell, vickery, hurley, yarren, trengove and blease will all be gone before us.

looks like there is no draftee with the footskills we are looking for

read my post, i said blease will be gone before us. Some people say that Schoenmakers is only 189cm(which is too small for a key position) and other say that he is 193cm, but he plays like a small anyway. He also has a slow load-up time with his kicks which means he is prone to being smothered etc.

rhys O keefe seems okay, but nothing special. has a pretty nice kick but floats a bit too many.

mitch robinson waddling running style and has a strange kicking action also.

Mitch Banner seems fantastic and i'd love to get him but he is another in and under type

Do keep in mind Freak that the draft experts do rate this draft as the best for a number of years - prob second to the Judd, Ball & Hodge draft.

There are plenty of players with good foot skills that aren't on the list youve posted above, your rating of the draft is poor, it's fine.

But Freak obviously knows more then these so called 'football people' who are recruiters by trade.

Freak has watched all the championship games on Foxtel and has read a magnitude of posts on bigfooty, hence his extensive knowledge.:blink:

Michael Walters, Suban, Lynch, Broadbent, Ash Smith, Chris Hall, McKernan and Zaharakis look like being available at 17-19. I'd be happy with any of them, and wouldn't be surprised if one or more of them was taken higher than expected. All of them are pretty good users of the ball.

well i dont think lynch or broadbent have great kicks but i agree that the others do. I just hope melbourne don't make the mistake of going for a midfield type with no foot skills. Debeour from W.A would be a complete waste of a pick, Blake from the cats has a better kick.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie
