I have been asked by a mate to come up with what i think is the best dees team since 1990.

Any player that has played since 1990 can be included.

At the moment this is what i have.

B- Danny Hughes

HB-

C- James Mcdonald Adem Yze Cameron Bruce

HF- Russel Robertson Garry Lyon David Schwartz

F- Jeff Farmer, David Neitz, Allan Jackovich

R- Jim Stynes, Shane Woewodin, Todd Viney

Darren Bennett Jeff White Glenn Lovett Glenn Lovett

As you can see i am really struggling with the backline lol

I only started as a supporter in 98 so help and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Ill alter the team with opinions etc

Thanks guys

Where's tingay and febeys.

I would have whelan in the back and shift neitz back CHB and move Jako FF. I would have Davey in there.

Not sure if AJohnson would fit the criteria but i'll have him in and Travis might sneak in. Wight too.

I like Phil Read's hustle.

Sean Wight FB, Graeme Yeats or Brett Lovett in a pocket, Rod Grinter or Matty Whelan in the other. Yeah, Neitz back to CHB, flanked by Stephen Febey and Yze (maybe swap Yze with Cam Bruce on the wing). Jako to FF. One of Green, Davey or Andy Lovell to the flank. Maybe TJ to the bench for one of the Glenn Lovett's. I'd try and find room for Tingay as well (at the expense of Bennett maybe?)

Was Alan Johnson still playing in the 90's? If So he must be in the side in the Back line.

Sean Charles was a Great Forward before he hurt his wrist

The Great Sean Wight-put him anywhere, always gave 110%

The Duke Earl Spalding-Forward Flank

I tried to stick to positions played as much as possible and base it on blokes I enjoyed watching play in those positions, rather than games played, B&Fs, etc.

Danny Hughes, AJ, Earl Spalding & Brian Wilson all left around 1990 so I excluded them.

Mate, I feel like a kindred brother. You are spot on. You even got Andrew Obst in there as well. VERY underrated! My apologies would be Greg Healy, Steven Stretch, Jeff White, Rod Grinter as well.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
