MARTIN, Stefan

MORTON, Cale

VALENTI, Shane ®

WEETRA, Isaac

WONAEAMIRRI, Austin ®

Hmmm, 6 out of 7 don't suck, I can't remember such good blooding.

(Even though we won three games).

Cale Morton followed by the Genius Stefan Martin.

As Geddy pointed out, it's funny how good our youngsters look yet how incredibly bad our season was.

Anyway, Morton first, Martin second, Wonaeamrri third. That's where they finished this year, but I think Maric will end up better than Martin and Wonna.

1. Morton - Great year, exceeded all expectations. Never been this excited about a youngster.

2. Martin - Came out of nowhere half way through the season and really shone. Will be a great full back for years to come.

3. Wonaeamirri - Freo game. Enough said.

4. Maric - This kids poise and skill was really a delight to watch when he had the ball. Looks like Yze Mk II

5. Valenti - Don't know how far the kid will go but he has talent.

6. Grimes - Would be alot higher but only played one game, and in my most excited about list he would be second behind Morton. Next year i would be expecting him to get alot of the pill and use it well (which is what he is good at).

7. Weetra - Delisted.

1. Morton - Looked comfortable at AFL level.

2. Wonaemirri - Provided spark.

3. Maric - Showed poise, prowess & patience.

4. Martin - Was gallant.

5. Valenti - Battled like a 10 year+ player.

6. Grimes - His determination to get back for Round 22 was fantastic.

7. Weetra - At least he had a crack. Had a big pre-season and there's nothing more you can do.

Morton was clearly the standout in a glim season.

1. Morton - Will be a very good player once he builds his body up...

2. Maaric - Shows alot of class and has skill... This guy will be our most skillful player

3. Martin - The big unit impressed in his few games, Along with Garland, Rivers and Warnock will be our defence for the next P-ship tilt

4. Valenti - Showed some promise but was basically used sparingly off the bench, Give him more opportunity.

5. Wooz - Half way through the year he was playing very well. Had a poor last half. Needs to improve fitnes but has some footy smarts

6. Grimes - Cant rate on 1 game but from all reports will be a good player once fully fit

7. Weetra - A wasted draft pick.

Posted

1. Morton - Big motor, found the footy and began to adjust to the pace and pressure of the AFL

2. Martin- Powerful unit, great hands, leap and reads the ball in the air well. Limited skills but made good decisions

3. Maric - Showed glimpses of class, speed and skill

4. Valenti - Has courage and has a go. Limited oportunity, still a question mark over whether he has the body to make it.

5. Wonna - Started well as a goalsneak. Sublime skills. Lost his way mid way through the year becoming fumbly and dropping marks. Has physical limitations in size and pace.

6. Grimes - Showed a little in his debut to suggest that he makes good decsions and has the ability to execute them under pressure. High hopes.

7. Weetra - Couldn't make it.

How I believe that they will be rated at the end of thier (hopefully excellent) careers.

1. Grimes

2. Morton

3. Maric

4. Martin

5. Wonna

6. Valenti

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
