I reckon White will end up at Carlton through the pre-season draft as they wont be able to satisfy a trade with Fremantle to secure Warnock. Meaning Sydney will miss out and might have to attempt to groom their own ruckman for once.

Also wouldn't be suprised to see Yze get picked up by Hawthorn. With Clarkson and Viney on the coaching panel Yze's played with both of them and Hawthorn seem to have a history of drafting classy left footers from other clubs. eg Dew and Guerra.

The most intelligent thing you have posted in your short career at DemonLand..... It would not surprise me at all to this happen.... Good work!

I think there will be a few clubs after him only cause he is a ruckman. A lot of clubs around the 8 will think White is a better short term option as the second ruckman than an under developed teenager. I think we can get a pick between 40 and 50 for him.

Roos in the article said "Midfield talent, with the way the game is played now, is probably a little bit more important than your forward talent. "

On that basis would he go for Rich if Swans had pick1? Wonder if Bails has the same view??

Except those 2 still look capable at AFL level and aren't pea hearts

dew isn't a pea heart? since when? and in guerra's case just because you snipe blokes doesn't mean you have a heart. like his hair though, now that IS the real deal.

Granted neither Dew nor Guerra are overly courageous but Ooze is in a class of his own

true, he's in the darren bewick, craig bradley class, but it's still splitting hairs.......

White might fetch us a late pick in say the 50s if the Swans want to be kind and maintain a good relationship for the future, or will go for free in the PSD.

Either way not much loss to us as we knew it was coming and we wouldnt get anything for him due to his age. If we can get a late draft pick we may as well and throw another kid on the list. We got Bartram and Buckley with late picks, so players can still be found late in the draft.

Best of luck to Jeff anyhoo

ok..Swannies have 11.. 29 ( correctin my ealier error ) 45 61 77 and 93

Now no ones giving up a first round pick Id think.. Pick 29 ? doubt it Swannies need youth.. so will probably use to draft

45..hmm these are tradable..but more likely in the hurly burly to get an out of favour est player..or a semi discard...someone one club think has an upside even if another club is keen to jettison

61? possibly.. but if Jeff is likely in the PSD..why waste it.... leaves 77 and 93...ah yes..the hidden treasure end of the circus !! if we're lucky !! lol

Ah well, bad luck, Jeff... Though I wouldn't be surprised if Roos was bluffing to knock that pick 61 back to a pick 93.

Not much reason to bluff, as if he wants him at trade week we would know immediately.

Heard today Roos say Sydney wont be interested in White. Strengthens the odds of it looking like he'll end up at Carlton next year.

Not really, does nothing of the sort. If Warnock goes to Blues, White won't end up at Carlton or VISY.

Carlton...White and Warnock...What..is this W -Week or something

Jeff's options are drying up quicker than a cocky's dam !!

Sydney coach Paul Roos has ruled the club out of pursuing former Melbourne and Fremantle ruckman Jeff White as a replacement for the retired Peter Everitt.

‘‘I think Jeff still has something to offer AFL footy, to be honest, but I think from our point of view, probably not.

‘‘We’ve got Daniel Currie, who is a young ruckman coming up, and Jake Orreal, so probably not is my initial reaction, with no disrespect to Jeff,’’ Roos said.

If Carlton get Warnock they won't go for White. I think Collingwood may go for him but with Sydney out of the race I can't see us getting a draft pick for him.

roos may have said that so they take white in PSD. he';s already said they dont want to bottom out unecessarily. they have two rookie ruckman other than jolly now that spida has gone so dont be surprised if they take white in psd

Currie is a 19 year old man mountain of a kid who's had an outstanding year in the ruck. During the finals the Syndey reserves were limited in the number of sydney listed players they could play so they rested him in the forward line instead of taking him off. He kicked 10 goals in 3 games while he was resting up forward including 3 in the grand final. They wont sneeze at Jeff White as an option.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
