I'm wondering who we will get with these picks. What are your thoughts ??

For me it depends on who we select with pick 1.

If we go with Natanui I'd like to grab Aarron Conrenlious and Mitch Brown. Two KKP forward players

If we go with Watts, we should get Brown and the next best midfielder which will probably be Blease.

The best boys available.

Naitinui - Cornelius & Zaharakis.

Watts - Roughead & Zaharakis/S.Hill.

Zaharkis will go well before pick 17.

Fwiw, I agree with Redleg

Zaharkis will go well before pick 17.

Debatable.

Many who take an interest on this topic have Zaharakis as a late 2nd round, early 3rd selection.

For the record Addam, have a look at this link: -

It has plenty of information on draftees, and you will get a better picture, my thoughts are in this thread too: -

Dont know what your trying to tell me.

Most of the opinion from those who take a direct interest in these boys is that Zaharakis will go roughly 20-35.

Just thought I'd give you a bit more information on the topic as you've only recently signed on, thats all.

With respect to D.Zaharkis, he is impressive, I hope you are right because I had Zaharkis at pick 17. We need pace. Him and/or Blease.

Oh, I see. Thanks.

I've been reading about the draft quite alot and I went and seen Vic Metro v WA a while back.

Yeah I'd like to see us take Zaharakis. I think Blease will go 12-14.

Well, with Warnock apparently out of the pickture, I'd now be looking at an extra young ruckman, where before I was just looking at a selection of pacy, skilled midfielders (O'Keefe, Robinson, Blease).

But with ruckmen it all depends on whose left by 17/19 I s'pose. It's a smaller pool and all that.

We should have at leasttwo running around at reserves for Casey, off the rookie list.

For the record, I still think Watts for pick 1.

Jamar was a lot better when he was out from White's shadow. PJ is a goer no doubts.

Meesen... ask me in the Nab cup decider next year...

1 = Naitinui

17 = Zaharakis (hope the spelling is right)

19 = Blease

Watts we will see you next year.

The best boys available.

This.

Though at the same time still target an area of the ground that is of concern eg if 2 players are on par and one is an inside midfielder and the other a full forward take the forward

As much as a skilled pacy midfelder would be nice, i personally just want a midfielder who could go in and get the f*ckn' pill out of a pack with clean hands and precision!

I would go with Natanui although i cant understand all the rave for Aaron Cornelius?? Have seen him play a few times and have come away shaking my head alot? All he wants is to take the big spekky, is a reciever not a getter,Wont put his body on the line. We need a couple of tough nuts that will put there head over the ball??? Instead of some of the softies we have now !!! Nathan Carrol should be moved to the forward line as every time the ball is near him a goal is kicked ?????

The best boys available.

Correct.

The rest of the posts are just posters blowing hot air in the disguise that actually know who will do what.

Down at 17 and 19, only insiders at the recruiting table will have any idea who would likely be selected.

And even then they'd be guessing

#1: Watts

#17: L Johnstone

#19:D.Zarhakis

I would also like to chase Mitch Thorp of Hawthorn.

Johnstone seems popular on the forums but I'm not a fan. He has agility and can take a mark but his skills are very ordinary. We have enough of those on the list already.

I like the other two.

At those picks I'd be ecstatic if we got two of Michael Walters, Matthew Broadbent, Sam Blease and Tom Swift.

Players I like are

1/ Watts, Rich, Ziebell, Vickery/

2/ Zaharakis, Blease, Shoenmaker, Robinson, Lynch/

3/ O'keefe, Broadbent, Roughhead, Redden/

4/ Stanton, -

I too like Jarrad Redden. I reckon he'll develop into a good ruckman. I saw him play on Naitanui at Casey Filelds and I liked the look of him. He moves well and is coordinated for a beanpole. Plenty of upside.

1. Watts

17. Zaharakis

19. Walters

35. Hannebery

51. Redden

I'd be very happy with these selections, but having seen quite a few games live it was evident that there are a number of good kids this year. Many that you've mentioned.

Thorp just signed a new contract Chilliboy.

If Thorp agrees to the trade then the two clubs can still arrange one.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
