We get to choose clash jumper

Featured Replies

I presume these are red jumpers with the blue logos?

"The AFL stipulated that the clash guernsey had to be based on a light colour, hence both options being white."

That worries me.

The AFL in their infinate wisdom stated before the start of this season that we could not have a red jumper. Hence why we had to go with that god - awful silver/grey jumper.

I think the club is looking at a; White jumper with Red panels down either sides (on the side of the jumper) & the traditional MFC logo (in Blue) on the middle of the jumper. Yes, this was the jumper the H/S had in a couple od weeks ago - but, it looked to me me.

Why the hell not? Last time I looked we were still the MFC!!

I get the feeling Big Jim is really going to push the tradtion of the footy club (& I really hope he does!!) We cant be pushed by the AFL around anymore!!

It's pretty crap that ours (and it's not just ours, it's other clubs as well) has to be white, yet Essendon are allowed to get away with just making their red sash bigger because it's in their constitution.

Maybe we should update our constitution to stipulate that we must wear red and blue at all times.

I do not mind having white on the jumper as long as the top looks good, that silver one looked freaking awful.

I do.

Melbourne are red and blue.

VOTE HERE

Option A looks like the Dogs and Option B looks like Carlton.

EDIT: One positive is that the Reebok jumper looks quite good. Melbourne were swimming in their jumpers this year (not just Morton).

Exactly!

If Essendon don't need a white alternative, neither do we.

I hate both those jumpers.

WHITE IS NOT A COLOUR OF THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB.

The second jumper, Option B, in Red with a blue MFC logo would be far better and would provide a genuine alternative.

What a load of crap.

please dont tell me option A is the best choice??

it is bogan and will date!

option B is our original symbol and will never age!!

OPTION B is the only option

Further to my previous post, any design put to the vote needs to be shown being worn by a few players, wearing it with shorts, socks and boots on a football field. Even the silver one looked OK on the website but looks terrible on the field.

I have e-mailed the MFC about this.

wow... am i the only one who dont mind them at all?

Maybe its because this years ones were so god dam aweful.

If we need a predominate white jersey i really like them!

If anything i would of liked a few more logo options on the jersey but i dont mind that logo, but im guessing if we choose option a, our long club logo would be that hey?

There's plenty of room for the Demon to make it's way back into the Mfc but this jumper should not be an option.

It is cartoonish and will appeal to very few.

The old logo will make our opposition and their supporters pause, and possibly remind them of our heritage.

That we are the oldest club in the competition.

God I hope we get Option B, please vote.

well..both are a big improvement on the pajamas !! I prefer the simpler Option B..I agreee the other one ( A) looks a bit dated to start with and will only be more so. The one using the MFC would always stand test of time..Its simple..sometimes simple is best :)

At least we get 'some' input...though I notice A is winning..lol...c'mon B...go BEES !!

I would prefer red, but we are in NO position to be arguing with the AFL over this issue.

Maybe when we are not such a liability, we can push for that.

EDIT: Just voted: dead heat - 50/50 split in votes. Vote B people!

Why can't Melbourne be predominantly red?

Who would that clash with out of Carlton, St Kilda, Fremantle, the Brisbane Lions and Essendon?

Essendon.

Agree. Update the constitution. This should of been done 6-7 years ago.

It is an absolute disgrace that anyone can vote. This should be a member only vote. Absolutely pathetic!!

No. You're pathetic. When do you write anything positive?

Im Torn.

Still have not voted.

I dont mind them both!

Demon logo on A is growing on me...

And the old logo on B is good.....

Hmmmm....

our traditional jumper clashing with Brisbane rubbish

Freo should always be made to wear the alternate white strip against us , they wear it @ home alot anyway

A whole red strip does not clash with essendon, Carltank or St kilda

AFL is colour blind!!!!!!!!

hate both jumpers

No. You're pathetic. When do you write anything positive?

No need to call me pathetic. After being a member for nearly 30 years, I am appalled that we find ourselves in this position as a football club - maybe that is why you see me as a nelly naysayer. However, I am quite positive that onfield we are on the right track. I like the route Dean Bailey is taking. I have issues with the off field stuff.

My point is, that as a member we should be voting for the jumper rather than moronic Collingwood, Essendon and Richmond supporters logging on and choosing our jumper. We also shouldn't allow Melbourne supporters who do not have a membership the right to vote. Buy a membership and then get the 'right' to vote on issues relating to your club.

As it stands, this idiot (Idiot crys for Eamon and Steph) on the dole who forked out $300 to see two swimmers can have a vote on the MFC Away strip. How does that make you feel as a Melbourne member?

By the way, option A is horrible.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
