We must be tanking, Bode is still in the team.......how many contests can you shirk and still get a game?

Would be good to see Whelan get a game.

I fear it may be his last year with us.

Frawley Carroll and Jamar my emergencies.

For the love of God Bails I know you're taking the [censored] having Frawley at CHF but don't even CONSIDER playing him up forward.

i'd like to see davey frawley and cj in.

although frawley and carol will be a toss up. however frawley would have played last week if not injured while carol was consigned to the twos.

i spose wheelan could get a run for bell, but i think wheelan and cj are fighting for the same spot this week.

when you consider we already have bode and bartram running round our backline, and mcdonald has played a few roles down there this year too, im not sure there is a spot for wheelan yet.

i freaked out i thought sylvia was not playing, Interesting Frawley getting named at HF.

I really hope Sylvia gets another go as FF

named on the wing...........

I'll be pumped if Wheels plays. He's so effective with the ball, with such a calm head who i think can really help the backline

Also i spent all Saturday night telling him to kick one for Sandy and then he'd get a game, so i want to be right!!

With a couple of the 'ins' listed on the bench, it seems that way.

Perhaps one of Morton or Bate will miss.

Neither Bate nor Morton will miss.

Lol, check out that half forward line.

hahaha, i know... there's a much better half forward line sitting on the bench...

A. Davey M. Bate A. Yze

i'm not even going to try and pick the 22 given that extended bench and the way the players have been named, esp. that half forward line... bails is clearly playing funny buggers and will drop someone out of the 18...

great to see CJ named though, Ruck Rover!

WHAT DOES HE SEE IN FRAWLEY?

Look, I don't think that Frawley is going to be the absolute champion that alot of people here have annoited him as but at this stage I'm happy for him to get as many games as possible. The fact is that we need to fast track as many KPP's as possible so who knows with some experience and a bit of confidence he may develop into a player.

In fact he's a bit of a worry.

You having a laugh K or is that really the team as picked?

WHAT DOES HE SEE IN FRAWLEY?

I guess the same thing he saw in Garland, and gee if my memory serves me correct most people bagged him and now he is everyones love child, how about we give them time in this developing year before we want them out.

In fact he's a bit of a worry.

Apart from his poor disposal, lack of being able to read the play and isn't good at one on one contests I think he goes ok.

Frawley wont be cut, as he was named in the starting 18. The three players left out must come off the extended bench.

My lineup

B - Bartram Garland Wheatley

HB - Green Warnock Bruce

C - Dunn Jones Davey

HF - Woneamirri Miller Bate

F - P.Johnson Sylvia Morton

R - White McLean McDonald

I/C - C.Johnson Bode Frawley Yze

Emer - Carroll Whelan Jamar

Where did you hear that from?

As far as I know any one of the 25 can be dropped

Nah, I also think that the 3 emergencies come from the bench.

Bate on the bench, Frawley in the forward line...what is the world coming to?

generally that's the rule, but Bailey hasn't been sticking to this at all... bringing players in from outside the 25, dropping players who are listed in the starting 18...

and naming Frawley at Centre Half Forward, next to Bode and Bartram... well i don't think Richmond would have much idea right now about how we're going to line up from the way the team was named tonight, given the way we've made changes in the past...

LMAO at the line-up, the half back line is almost as disturbing as the half-forward line.

Bailey clearly couldn't be bothered organising the line-up so early in the week. Although I'm not sure how silly playing Frawley up forward is. You just never know what could happen.

Anyways, bench should most certainly be Davey, Bate, Morton & Whelan.

Davey and Whelan won't play.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
