Are they giving him his tribute this weekend? I haven't heard anything so i was hoping they would leave it to make it a part of the big celebrations during the Queens Birthday for our 150th year, a tell ya what if they DID do that it would just about sell out the ground.

Please don't let it be this weekend though, because i've got my mother's 60th birthday in the afternoon and i can't go to the match!

Thanks :(

I might not get to say goodbye! If i ever see him at a function or anything i will make sure to thank him in person, he's earned every accolade he's been given.

I'll be there..............I just hope a big crowd with plenty of MFC supporters turn up to give him a send off!

Members' email said there'd be a lap of honour, in a Volvo C30 no less! I'll be there to honour the great man for the first of many times i believe

Must remember to pack some tissues before we leave for the game.

Hopefully every Melbourne supporter comes this Sunday. Our captain deserves a standing ovation from more than 58 people :D

Agree shoulda been the Queens Birthday and lead the fans with the walk to the "G" Woulda been huge.

The club smart by doing this on Suinday and not Queens Birthday, Queens Birthday we will get 60-75,000 regardless. On Sunday the club IMO would have budgeted on 35-40K turning up. With Hawthorn flying and now with Neita retiring the club would by hoping for 55-60,000 to attend. A bit extra cash in the bank. Neita can still lead the walk to the G on Queens birthday as well.

I didn't know they played curtain raiser matches on the 'G - what time is that?

So they play an unnecesary curtain raiser, but won't let fans onto the ground? Hrm

All this talk of Neitz retiring is still gettin me down

i am all for curtain raisers...i reckon they should play them their during all day games, no need for them at night matches. if they did id get their at 12, watch the game and then have lunch their. ok i know its expensive, but i get a full days entertainment, not just 2.5 hours. i know the g looks great these games, but o you reckon 1 extra game a week is too much?

I with you deanox, I think curtain raisers are a good thing. They get people to the ground who might not otherwise have come, and then hopefully they stick around afterwards, boosting attendance numbers. Plus maybe they spend more money on food etc. Plus its entertaining.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
