Time for Yze to play a couple of games in the seniors I reckon. The bloke's played 250+ games for the club and kind of deserves better in his farewell year...given the amount of excitement his provided to Demon fans over the years.

I'm not advocating playing him week in week out, but perhaps play him in the Queens birthday match as a token of appreciation for all the good games he's played for the club.

The dumbest thing I have read for a long while. He doesn't deserve anything. His last 3 years have been a disgrace and he has been on good money too. He should of retired last year with Brown, Pickett and Bizzell. It doesn't matter if he gets a farewell game or not it won't change anything he will always be known as a very good footballer that played on for too long. A farewell game will be just another wasted game give a young kid a go instead, if he wants to say goodbye to the fans let him do it in a car.

Spot on deanox. It's frustrating that Sautner occupies the position he does, but those that resent Sautner himself for it have misdirected their frustration IMO.

if the mfc wasn't desperately crying out for a KPF then no one would even notice. if the sandringham midfield all got 35 touches and kicked 3 goals each every week you wouldnt hear a peep. but it is because we desperately want a FF or CHF to say 'pick me i am your saviour'...

If Yze works himself into really good form, then of course he gets a run.

But for sentiment?

Maybe a round 22 game, if we're well clear of the spoon and have nothing further to gain.

But really even that feels wrong just to write it.

He's getting a lot of money playing for Sandringham, and will never have to worry about the costs of looking after his kids or anything, as well as having a decade of often excellent football to look back on.

I don't think he'd be bitter over something as ultimately minor as a last game.

i could see a last game sendoff for about 3-4 players at some point this year. ive got no worries with giving them a testimonial, as long as nothing else is at stake. most importnat thing is that it really is a last game, and we turn the list over even more. within 2 years of the bailey era we will have close to 50% list turnover. that is a massive change...

He's a listed player, so as far as I'm concerned, his services should be required in any given game.

As far as the animosity in some quarters towards Nick Sautner, it defies logic. Sandringham is a club in its own right and anyone who can finish up with 10.6 from 18 shots and 12 marks deserves his spot at full forward (even if there were a few academy award performances thrown in during the game).

the logic behind it isn't that Sautner isn't a good full forward who will win Sandringham games, but as others have said his presence in the side slows the development of other players...

we all believe juice will probably be our next full forward... but when has he played there? if our alliance was with say box hill for example, rather than juice playing a season in sandy 2's at full forward, and a season in sandy 1's playing all over the place, he would've had 2 seasons at full forward at VFL level...

which option would be better for his development? i think it's pretty obvious...

Yep.

If Juice is good enough, he would've replaced Sautner at FF already.

It's not Sautner's fault, Juice isn't getting it done.
