  1. Past hour
  2. DFAT advisory update; “steer well clear of BBO and SWYL.” And have a great holiday Kev.
  3. Really it’s so obvious about our starts, Go back to R 22 vs Pies at the G we missed the Finals by a goal (ie %) and a win. I feel it’s part of Goody’s lack of panic to make changes also that doesn’t address some early issues when our slow starts occur. If it is Trac’s issue then something needs to be done about it. We are never beaten but it’s galling losing by mere points.
  4. I feel after watching the Saints game that Tmac seems to have gained a few metres in pace of late. He took some great intercept marks and I know he's stated he can't play up fwd anymore....on his recent form it would be exciting to see him there again. Alas that's not going to happen which means it's him, Maysie and Lever in our backline. That means no Tommo and Petty still fwd. Could we trial Tommo as a sub fwd like we used to with Smith or is this too risky? Is there any possibility of pinch switching May and Petty fwd and back on occasion? Or is that too far left field. Perhaps Petty will finally find his feet up fwd so to speak and this is all a moot discussion. I do think Petts does well in restricting Oppo players from at least marking and his limited ruck work has been good. I think I just feel for Tommo who when he is called upon does incredibly well especially after the length of time he has been absent from the team. As others have pointed out he probably isn't quick enough to be a fwd. Bit props to him for his great effort v the Saints.
  5. I think this move strongly hints that we will enter 2025 without Tom McDonald or Adam Tommlinson AND we intend to persist with Petty forward into the future. Battle isn't going to come to the MFC to sit in the 2's until May decides to retire, he would rightly want to come to a situation where he is clearly starting 22
  6. Thanks Kev greatly appreciated enjoy your holidays your informative and detailed reports will be greatly missed.
  7. maybe left-field, but I would have him in our wing rotation. I feel we lack competition in the air between the arcs without Petty in form supporting Gawn. (Also feel that Windsor is an absolute jet but doesn't have the full nous of winging yet and we get caught out occasionally. that's not a sleight, the leagues best wingers are veterans for a reason.) Tomlinson was recruited for that role, he might not have the same tank now he's trained as a defender but I reckon he'd add a whole different dimension to the wing role that we don't have currently.
  8. All the best enjoy your trip. OS a pleasure. Thanks for your thorough reports, they will be missed.
  9. I can't be totally sure, but I think the two stark examples of ridiculous flying was with Petty injured, Gawn off and JVR rucking. I don't remember it being an all-game thing, more a late tactic. wouldn't stake my life on it, or even my left boot, but pretty sure.
  10. Anyone who thinks for even a millisecond that Stafford will be shown the door needs to think again, but this time for longer than a millisecond. 😁 He ain’t goin’ nowhere. No Siree Bob. Just ain’t gonna happen. Therefore folks need to get used to seeing the man-mountain at the club for some time yet. 😃👍🏽❤️💙
  11. Thanks for all your work Kev. Enjoy your time overseas. Did you notice if Salem appeared hindered by anything? He finished the game on the bench in a tracksuit so perhaps has a niggle of sorts.
  12. Great as usual Kev, enjoy the holiday mate! 👍
  13. What does this even mean? Are you saying some of us have more time to do things like correct someone else’s misuse of a word and that when you retire you’ll have time to do this? If so, you’re not doing time-spending correctly. FWIW, I have two jobs. Besides, in half the amount of time it took for you to reply (above) you could’ve looked up the meaning of ‘laconic’ and this conversation would never have happened.
  14. Can’t have both 74 make up your mind please.
  15. I think that makes sense Jaded. We won't lose much in terms of pace with Woey Jnr, plus he gets rewarded for good form, plus we manage Leb's minutes. Leb could be a real impact player if injected at the 20 minute mark of the 3rd qtr.
  16. No it’s no t that easy. We need big players marking etc.
  17. Thanks for the training report, Kev! Have a wonderful time overseas! Hope you're back in time to watch our next premiership 😁
  18. i don't think that quite works, as they're both unrestricted free agents melbourne gets no compo as one free agent comes in and one goes out
  19. Well said Moonshadow my sentiments exactly. That’s what you get when you don’t make sensible coaching changes after 2/3 years of average or no forward connections and results. Change is needed and Staf is overdue for it as he has had more than enough time to correct this part of our play. A look at the movement in the Swans ball movement would be a start plus their forwards moving around and leading.
  20. Today
  21. Beautiful morning for training. The dew has dried, out from AAMI, quiet chatting. Maysie does his heart symbol. 7 in rehab, Turner, Hore, Sestan, BBB, Petty, Spargo and Schache. All in runners. Melky weighted and change of angles work. Salem has his individual program. White cap (no contact), Howes, Woewodin and, Sparrow. Some players did laps, Gawn, Fullarton, McAdam, (a couple of others) as a competitive short pass at the mannequin ran. Low-key, running the cobwebs out. I didn't stay long, also I am off overseas for a few months. New trackers needed.
