BBO I feel for you after such a dilemma but I can't provide much personal advice on these matters as my man Hudson deals with these type of "downstairs issues" as I label them.

What about Col Garland's signature?
Earl Hood replied to Neitz the Great's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree let us sign him up ASAP. As for Howe his value is declining with every game he shows up for. I avoided using the word play because that is what he is not doing this year. And I bet a lot of it has to do with his determination to put off talks so he can concentrate on his footy as they all say. Well it is wrecking his game this year. Garland though I hope we are talking turkey. -

Yes it is an illusion but to quote Churchill - "democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others". The powerful still rule but at least in a functioning democracy they have to work hard to fool the majority that what the powerful want is in everyone else's interests. Thus the need for the likes of Rupert Murdoch who plays an important role in maintaining this masquerade. -
Who is going to pay for this? Taxpayers, the AFL? It won't be all paid for by the Dorks I bet. Gee they need an upgrade tout sweet because they are so struggling as a team. The lack of facilities is really showing. I see they are at full strength at the moment. Does anyone ever get a real injury over there? That you can have guys drafted 14 years ago still running around playing their best football is just extraordinary. Their contemporaries like Judd and Ball are done or all but.

Maple can we get back to kiwi berries or Let's talk bananas Deefrog, anything but this animal talk?

That case concerned some horses who were asking for it I understand Moons, no mention of alpacas or cows in the case for the prosecution as I read it.

Damn lies and statistics Wrecker. 70% of people who buy papers (and that is a declining percentage of the population) may buy a Murdoch tabloid paper operating in a monopoly market. Murdoch's tabloids play to the least educated part of the market to maximise sales and political influence. He feeds them his view of the world and some of them may believe it and you declare that as power to the people!! Give me a break. -
Forever playing "the Gentleman from Romsey" BBO when there is a lady around but I think Maple may have worked you out some time ago!

Que Deefrog!

Barassi's Irish experiment delivered Wight in 83 and Stynes in 86. The club finally worked out that there was talent interstate something Hawthorn and Carlton had been doing for years and brought in Stretch in 86 and Dean, Spalding, Viney in 87 along with draftees the Febeys and Obst. That sudden influx of talent ensured we would be competitive in 87.

Moons, Surry Hills played in Demon jumpers didn't they?

Good idea Maple. I know my quinoa crop has been a failure so far. I thought living on the fifth floor and facing north near the Fitzroy Swimming Pool was a pretty good approximation for the climate conditions around Lake Titicaca in Bolivia but I could have miscalculated this one. It might be time to move onto these kiwi berries.

Played cricket there a few times against East Box Hill CC if I remember correctly BBO. The ground surface had more silt than grass sometimes. I grew up in the area and can remember when the flood retarding basin was built in the mid 60's.

DC not sure I want to know about the monster! Where abouts in BoxHill South is your son? Which street? I remember most of them as I used to sought mail at the Box Hill Post Office pre Christmas when I was very young on school holidays. This may come as s shock I grew up in that humble working class suburb before I later was informed that I was related to a long lost member of the British aristocracy and became the towering figure I am today.

BJ do you mean Box Hill? And was the cover band still playing the Dobbie Brothers?

Absolute Shyte day at the club, I have had enough. Can't we talk about bananas for a change? By the way the cluster of banana trees next door to my beach shack down on the Surf Coast is coming along nicely. The old guy owner has no idea who much they are worth. Could be a big harvest coming up. Of course I have offered to manage the whole process for him. I can make better use of the proceeds.

Haven't revisited it since 87 but still reckon Eihold took that mark in the goal square but his momentum took him off the side of the square. The ump then made him line up from where he finished rather than where he took the mark. Eishold then stuffed up the tight angle shot for a point. A goal would have pretty much sealed it as I remember it. And Warren Dean could play but did his knee the next year, familiar story back then.

I thought Earl's nickname was The Baron? But wasn't he a player and he copped a lot of Shyte for our loss to WC in 1991 if I remember. Probably cost us finals appearances in 92 and 93. He went on to play a big role in the Blues 95 premiership. Not hugely skilled but was a big presence who could contest.
-
Jeff Hilton? But he played in the early 90's.

the US's political War; Vietnam... the Viet Cong
Earl Hood replied to dee-luded's topic in General Discussion
Ah yes I had forgotten about the Sandanistas versus Ronald Reagon's freedom fighting Contras. You know the Contras the US funded blood stained thugs, press ganging young kids to do their fighting, to oppress local villages, torture and exterminate opponents while the the main US guys ran their drug deals to fund arm movements in the region. Such as Oliver North who is these days a hero of the right!- 13 replies

Oh for heavens sake don't give DeeFrog another opening to talk about bananas!

DC I think the above discussion was worthwhile for people like me to get a good idea of the vastness of Borewood, I still have a query about where Jordanville fits in though. However I now have a better appreciation of the environment that influenced your sometimes warped perspective of the world. I think it would be worthwhile to now get a feel for BBO's environment and what makes him tick. What are the key characteristics of the environment of Lancefield South where he lives?

Certainly seemed to read the play well down back and was all over Boyd. If he plays to his strengths and uses his height to punch and his agility to mop up the loose ball he could be very useful. Frost if not injured would probably be playing down back instead of Fitzy as Pedersen has filled the extra tall forward/ruck roll beautifully. Actually Frost getting injured has been of some benefit as it brought Pedo back in (who was just going at half pace at Casey) and allowed us to experiment with Fitzy.

DC that is why I asked the question. What are the boundaries? It seems now that it is the Burvale to the east, the Matthew Flinders to the south, the Tower to the west? what is to the north then, The Doncaster? Gee how big is Borewood?
