thats the panic button mate. this spot came from many poor decisions, the main ones were the last 6 games 2011 a decision was made to bring our fitness levels up to standard. this was a fd primary goal. its being achieved dont expose young players to gorillas and break thier mental spirit, this is being achieved. re 4 hard bodied older recruits i would say 2011 was worse and the members sponsors were got back with the rebuild promise ive seen the team this year try corridor footy and fail. then change to boundry. believe me this change during a game is hard to switch for any team, but weve done twice. lost but we done it. thats a good achievment for a footy team. younger recruits learning thier trade in the ressies and building up bigger frames . this is a terrific implementation of short term loss, long term gain. the murdering of the ball coming off half back will be sorted out when you have clark dawes , they HOLD the ball well in the f/line and give players something confident to kick to. see how the team will look when clark. watts, jamar trenners and grimes are back. you will be much more supportive and look forward to matches remember big fella its not all doom and gloom. promise ya get on board and enjoy the swings , theres nothing else you can do

neeld was quoted before a game earlier this year< we all want jw to just go out there and get a kick and enjoy his footy> in what way has he treated him badly ask the senior players who hung him out to dry in his first 4 games what they were thinking and what WALKOUT. names , numbers, and proof please -
fitness base has been instigated at a rate of every other club , of which we were 3 years behind got 4 hard bodied players to cover gaps until junior softer boys from draft can put on muscle and play against men in ressies for the first time in thier careers .no more throwing them to the wolves has accepted we may lose games but will not relent on certain issues with players fd has been trying to get out of ceo overshadow for 18 months maybe new ceo has aluded to this already recruitment has been talked about for 18 months and now the fd gets a clear call at the player required

i wont i wanna rebuild i want to see it through average breeds average average gets US nowhere doing it tuff hurts but doing it properly counts

when you say its common knowledge in football community. are you calling cfc, steve kernahan. mick malthouse and greg swann liers or is the football community calling them liers? and are you know calling paul roos a lier. and if so why appoint him if he is??

answer to your question who do you want to coach melbourne , simple until 2014 mark neeld. your right our list isnt as bad as people think yes draft picks and a free agent will help him next year, at least hes changing the attitude to what happened with recent draft choices watts and trengrove might be stars elsewhere? maybe. but remember thier treatment and team positions were compromised because of the lack balance and experience around them. thats why neeld has been told to protect the emerging players so they dont get tainted with the same exposure of watts trenners and grimes. be patient this is a REBUILD -
same as above been saying it on this site although not as well written as yourself most posters think a sacking will be the answer i believe supporting the FD is the answer

Some fans may have given up hope, but players haven't

see post 35 far to much common sense doc -
i think the new rules put into place are hurting players who have got away with laziness for 3 years the last 18 months have been massive change wise IF they stick with the current ideas the players will realise that its either THIS WAY or else the new players will follow these protocols and change will happen unfortunately supporters dont want to see the rebuild but nothing will change with a new coach, he may get a few wins and pats on the back from the club and fans but unless he rebuilds , we will still be average
-
Imagine if we kept OUR coach and let him see out the rebuild until the end of 2014 then we might show weve got some knackers. we had to start somewhere and this was the reason we ended up with mn and the fd good recruiting will follow and im surprised nobody wants to back the current fd

exactly right. so the coach knows and the whole football world knows. thats why were trying to develop harder bodied players in ressies . sacking the coach to be replaced by another developer is completely insane hes trying to shore up positions and let the mid alone to find out who can remain for next year ive been slightly happy with the building blocks put in place this year and if the board see it thruogh to 2014 i think change will be quicker than people imagine. -
remember this coach was brought in to make sure young recruits werent ruined by to much early football in a underdeveloped senoir team. the fd is now doing this to make sure new players are getting game time and building up body strenght in the ressies. next year our fitness and player strenght will IMPROVE. so a young mid could fit into squad. i think they nmow have a better understanding of draft picks and will do the right thing for the better of the OUR team
-
first we cop it for not having young recruits in the club, then we play jw and cop it for not protecting him.so now the fd recruits cheap hard bodied players to cover gaps while young skinny not ready kids get a grounding at casey while thier frame puts on muscle and we dont throw them to the wolves.clark and dawes will hide protect and mature hogan for the next 3 years. good decision fd jimmy t not playing atm is a good decision . i had the feeling in the 2ndQ that a couple of goals would have turned the momentum but this was all over after the misses.i then saw aplayer take eyes of the ball TWICE right in front of me , so it will be interesting to see whats done about it.first Q sunday we played up the middle, highly unusual for us and the ball was butchered so in the 2nd he changed tack. i thought this was a sign the coach and players are becoming adaptive which is needed in modern footy.notwithstanding a clear lack of class is holding us back from being at least a bit competitive, so there is signs of improvement and besides the sack neeld crew i personally can see parts of the building blocks falling into place and would desperately like the board to see out the fd contract 2014. its then and only then that we can judge the fd im not scared for the next 4 weeks , as a matter of fact i think some players are looking forward to the process going another step week by week.btw if a player is looking to jump ship like every poster seems to think. then thier doing a bad job of it because they should be showing future employers thier skills and determination for a contract at the prospective new club
