  1. He also said Mitch Clarke isn't a full forward and didn't kick "real" full forward goals. So I guess sometimes he does talk [censored]. Good luck trying to filter it. I'm for the switching off. You can get the info you need in 1/10 of what King says.
  2. Yeh, I'm the same. This may as well be a thread about why radios have dials and TV's remotes. Frankly it's pretty hard to listen to any station (tv or radio) without coming across some opinionated or fawning idiot.
  3. I'm sure it gave the Richmond supporter who reads The Age a phat
  4. You have zero vision and forward thinking. Why would Melbourne get involved in Netball? We're a football club. At one level with Casey we are involved in local footy so you fail there as well. If Collingwood were involved in Women's footy no one here would think it was a waste of time. A waste of time would be doing nothing.
  5. Maybe, but the guy is good enough to play but not good enough to be in front of one of the 'stars' from last week? Reduces goal kicking options by one and also what's the point of flying his family over from WA to see him play the last quarter of what in all likelihood will be a quarter of going through the motions?
  6. For 1 mill a year you want a bloke who can step up when the team is going backwards. Tom = front runner/downhill skier.
  7. Mate, Andy D says we have to leave them alone so be nice. Feel free however to follow Dimwits outrage at anything coming out of Melbourne (substantiated or not).
  8. Fair enough. However, it's Interesting how that muppett King says he'll "cut him some slack". He would go 180 degrees the opposite way if Scully were still at Melbourne and be tearing shreds off him and us with the difference being Scully wouldn't be on obscene amounts of cash. Therefore saying he has more pressure now is absolute fluff! He hasn't had half the scrutiny and criticism Jack watts has had in the last 2 years. Scully absconded to Sydney and he's out of sight out of mind. King reckons he'll improve when GWS does. My god, what a dumbass! What player doesn't look better or perform better in a winning side? The fact is that Scully should be in front of his fellow midfielders and leading from the front not playing catch up, waiting for the team to improve. I'll cop criticism of Melbourne's player development but there is no arguing that our selections have been poor and Scully is exhibit 'A'. removed from Melbourne's environment he is still just an above average footballer.
  9. Ins & Outs relate to the previous week rjay, not the squads named Thursday night. As to the changes, I can't argue but I despair over the misuse of Blease. He should be playing inside the F50 at this stage since his ball use is not good enough to play elsewhere. He has shown he knows where the goals are and we will clearly struggle to score this weekend given the opposition and side we've picked.
  10. I don't know why you would think he would have limited authority? He's the CEO! If he exercises his authority he'll soon work out who is or isn't capable or on board and that's where the serious change starts. Having said that I'm not sure about the need for much further drastic change but to simply continue to move away from harmful people and period at the club. I expect he will be able to smoke any remaining rats out.
  11. And how did he go last year? Flat track bully and nothing more, never will be. Part of the past never the future.
  12. Yep, well be careful what you wish for.
  13. The whispering is the stuff that in a successful organisation stays in house or is simply made up so it has been going on, regardless of what has happened in reality that has upset some of the sensitive types. I'm happy for the MFC to keep fluming along until all the whisperers have gone and taken up a new hobby. We won't have success until those below pull in the same direction as those above.
  14. Rubbish. How did the ball get that spin on it travelling form Stratton to Buddy. Did he throw him a flipper? If he threw it, it would have floated.
  15. Agree with Ox. Can't unscramble the egg. Maybe the remainder of the older players will need to be tipped out before the curve starts?
  16. Since this has already turned into a thread about Neeld, my two cents.......don't even think about it MFC unless you identify a candidate to replace him and you have +90% chance of getting that person. To go with a caretaker will just put us back on the treadmill and we are bound to end with the wrong coach again.
  17. Probably beside the point because I doubt the vast majority of our supporters would embrace the idea even if he did, given how he has ragged on the club. Also think he is comfortable with his achievements in footy and would prefer to continue banging on about how great he and the '06 Swans were for the rest of his life. How Firking boring for his family and relos
  18. You obviously haven't listened to a single word McLardy or Schwab have said today, or are you trying to be sarcastic?
  19. What I can ascertain from what has gone on at the MFC over the last few years is that there are problems at Melbourne which go way deeper than a coach, his players and a game plan. I just listened to Cameron Schwab and he will never acknowledge this simple fact. That tells me he is part of the problem. He and the people undermining him will need to be excommunicated from the club before we can move on. Unfortunately I think we will be going around in circles for the foreseeable future.
  20. You nailed it. This playing group have no idea. That could be a coaching fault or a playing group fault or a combination but its a big enough mess that it won't be fixed without blood being spilt.
  21. I have to admit that watching replays of that game that there is a clear problem at the MFC. Be it players, coaches or officials, in reality it's probably all three? I fear we are about to see a further implosion of historic proportions. Could be the mother of all purges, the one we should have had post 186?
  22. Can't believe you (and everyone else it seems) has missed Dan Nicholson! Would rather have Joel McDonald any day, at least I know he will go at 100%, same could be said of Rohan Bail.
  23. Oh great, so give the AFL and other clubs a reason to write us off, "look guys, we could score a few extra supporters here!". I would walk from the game and never return. To me what you are saying is like replacing family.
  24. Nicholson (not for the first time), Pederson and Sellar all shirked it today. We cannot have these sorts of blokes in the side, let alone on our list. If we are fair dinkum these blokes would be outed by their team mates for their efforts and they aren't the only players scared of a hard contest.
  25. That pretty much nailed it. Right form the first bounce (clearance) Port were in front. Loose ball came to the members wing early on and Sylvie trailed his opponent by 5 metres running half pace. I thought to myself we're not on! How the f**k can you not be putting in an effort 5 minutes into the season?
