We all hate Geelong but Freo are a ordinary side. Couple of seasoned guns, a couple of young guns and a lot of mediocre players.

Thanks, the NSW website there was an active case there on July 1st but person only tested positive yesterday. I was there on the 12th, when I spoke to contact tracers earlier they said they are now 3 confirmed cases from that site. I was contracting there, working alone outside but did briefly go into their office and use bathroom facilities.
-
I woke up this morning to a lengthy text from NSW health stating that I had recently worked at site with at least 3 confirmed cases. My family all got Covid tests this morning, if they get a negative they are free to go back to normal but I must remain in isolation for 14 days regardless. Again the consistency…. This on the back of my comment yesterday about the Western Bulldogs.

No I’m not but it’s stories like these along with the NRL player who is seeking an exemption to watch his wife give birth today and travel to the QLD in his personal car whilst most people can’t get interstate to see a terminally ill loved one that have people asking why are there so many contradictions with the rules.
-
So the article I found read “Western bulldog official was in Highpoint during exposure period”. Didn’t specify which shop but I’m sure I heard on the radio at the time he was in the same shop. Then he interacts with the playing group, the playing then plays the Dees, the Dees then travel to Sydney and play the Lions in Sydney, all of this happens inside a two week period….
-
This is going back a few weeks, the Western Bulldogs official that was at Highpoint, was he in the shop at the same time as the person that tested positive?
-
Has something happened behind the scenes at the Eagles that will come to the surface in coming weeks….

I think it was Justin Leppitsch on Thursday night that said words to the effect off “All teams will have a dip in form at some stage throughout a season, you can’t be up all the time.” Difference between us and say the Dogs and Lions is that our losses could be put down to mental fatigue or similar. I think that definitely applies to the losses against the Crows and Pies, the loss to the Giants was a combination of fatigue and team selection. But when we’ve come to play our best has been better than that of all other teams currently inside the top 8 of which we have played six, we are yet to play the Eagles this season. Being able to put lower placed teams away by 10 plus goals only counts for so much if that same form can’t get you wins over fellow top 8 sides.

I thought the 8 was sewn up weeks ago, lots of upsets to come, loving the footy at the moment just hard to get a multi up.

This doesn’t need a new thread.

BB made a difference

Are you thinking off another game? Ben Brown didn’t play against the Hawks, he played against North, Sydney and Carlton. -

I think Weid will be gone at seasons end. There’s not enough talent now for 18 clubs, I think there will be a couple of clubs willing to offer him regular game time. -
POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Great win, Port tried to rough us up early but we’re quickly found wanting. We have now beaten the other 5 top 6 teams. Port are 0 & 4 against the top 4. TMac is in AA form. May is a star. Petty played his best game to date. Langdon continues to escape criticism for his goal awareness, its been lacking in recent weeks. Looks to rush his shots when he actually has more time to steady, missed two gettable shots last night. Oliver was nailing his shots a few weeks ago, his attempts last night were poor. Was really happy with Brown’s game, thought he should of been paid the mark (in the 2nd qtr?next to the goal square). We have a lot of attacking options up fwd now, goals will come for him, can’t stop them all, he should of played last week. Loved Fritsch’s goal. -

Little bit nervous but I think we have a much stronger team on paper. No excuses, want a start similar to that against the Dogs. -

Can’t be serious, Port aren’t that good. They’ve beaten Swans and Tigers, lost to Dogs, Lions, Cats and Eagles. -
TEAMS: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide

Strong team and we’re no taller than when we played the Dogs and Lions so that combined with Jackson’s athleticism I’m not sure what the issue is. -
Are the Demons pretenders?
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
So many new threads all discussing pretty much the same thing…. Are we pretenders…. Time to panic…. The way I see it…. Is sitting on top a a bad thing…. As little over a month ago we dismantled both the Dogs and Lions in spectacular fashion. We blew the dogs away in the first qtr/half before they could even get going. We trailed the Lions by 20 at half time before kicking 9 goals to 3 in the second half. We did all of this with Weideman lining up at full forward, (I don’t want this thread to become derailed) I thinks it’s fair to say he didn’t have a massive impact on either of those two games when the win was effectively set up, he was subsequently dropped as we know after the Collingwood game. So I don’t subscribe to the theory that we’re going to be too tall when Ben Brown lines up this week. Not only will TMac and Fritsch benefit from playing on the 2nd and 3rd best defender, our smalls will also benefit. When TMac marks 60 out from goal and turns around he’ll no longer be bombing it in to Spargo and Kosi instead he’ll have Brown leading at him out from the goal square. I believe Brown will be a game changer for us as we embark on the run home to the finals. This Thursday night is a very winnable game against Port, I could of got this wrong but looking back through this years games their biggest scalp is the Swans by 10 points only 2 weeks ago, also Richmond by 2 points in rd 4. They’ve been beaten by the Eagles, Lions, Dogs and Cats. -
Are the Demons pretenders?
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I can live with the loss to Collingwood, after back to back wins against the Dogs and Lions and the bye the following week we had already checked out. The losses to the Crows and Giants didn’t have to happen. Barring injury i want Ben Brown to come in for the remainder off the season, every other forwards game will be better off with him being in the side. -

Played 9 games last year due to injury. Did more in his first two games against North and the Swans than Weid did in his five games. -
I needed that, thanks.

Just waiting now for someone to tell us that they’re happy for Brown to come in next week but only for a block of four games.
