  1. Sorry Jaded, I meant stay there for a block of games. Good point with regards to crowds which I hadn’t considered when posting.
  2. Why can’t the lions travel to Melbourne and stay there in isolation?
  3. My metrics for a key forward primarily is taking marks and kicking goals. That’s what Brown did against the Swans in a tight game. We need to remember his first game against the North was not only his first game in a while, his first game for us and for a team that had come off a big win against the Tigers are were clearly flat. Weid was quiet against the Crows and in the last qtr when the game was there to be won, didn’t touch the footy. Then went on to have one handball in the first half against the dogs when the game was hot. Yes he kicked two goals in the third (and yes I celebrated them) but by then I believe we had control of the game. I believe had Jackson not had gotten injured and we went in unchanged against Carlton Brown would have done more. But based on his poor showing for Casey Weideman stays in regardless of his output.
  4. Please stop avoiding the question. Who did more in their two games without the other playing?
  5. Past form...current form....how much more current do want then Rd 7 & 8? I’ve simply asked you to remove the Carlton game from calculations as that is the one you keep referencing as to where Weid performed better than Brown. Based on our team structures when Jackson is in the side and both Brown and Weid have both had two games each without the other playing to put their case forward. I’ve asked you to compare those and you have chosen not to. I’m of the opinion based of the opinion that Brown did more in rounds 7 & 8 then Weids did in 10 & 11. So as for the anti Weid sentiment you are wrong, I think what you will find is what people are after is what you said earlier, and that is “we’ve waited so long to build a genuinely competitive culture and some want yo throw it out the window at first chance”. VFL form is one thing doing at the top is another. Brown has done more is his two games yet was dropped for his efforts.
  6. Can we remove the Carlton game out of the equation because it didn’t work with the cluster f#*k of talls as we are all aware, so comparing stats is pointless. Now let’s compare Brown v North and Sydney against Weid v Crows and Dogs. For me Browns output in those games, more so the Sydney game outweigh what Weid has produced. Brown’s involvement in the Swan’s game far outweighs his lack of involvement in the VFL.
  7. So many posts talking about Weid getting to contests and creating opportunities, and it’s only a matter of time until he starts clunking them. Weid has been in the system for a while now. Regardless of who plays they need to be taking those marks more often than not, we’re a genuine contender this year, no passengers full stop.
  8. Was it fair on Brown being dropped in the first place based on this new competitive culture? Brown’s marks and goals against Sydney were more telling than Weid’s two goals in the third against the dogs. After going unsighted in the last qtr against the Crows you would of thought Weid would come out firing, only to deliver nothing for a half of footy where essentially the win was set up. Granted Brown did nothing in the VFL but I don’t think Weid should keep his spot on the back of a great team win given his input and what happened to Brown. Rounds 12 - 19 the more difficult matches are Lions next week and Port in Adelaide in Rd 17, by rd 20 we need to have one of the two locked in going into games Rd 20 v Dogs home, Rd 21 v Eagles away, Rd 23 Cats away then the finals.
  9. Agreed it should be played in Brisbane, must be neutral ground if not Alice.
  10. Unless you live here (probably only applies to about 14 of us).
  11. Daniel is an accumulator of the footy and runs all game, I personally don’t think he’s as damaging as some of the other half backs in the competition. Nibbler has been outstanding this year with his pressure and tackling, I hope he has a blinder tonight.
  12. Based on what....He went ok against North in his first game back from injury and for our club, kicked some crucial goals against the swans, didn’t do a lot against Carlton then poor in the VFL. Some of the best key forwards in the game today are in their late 20’s early 30’s. I’m backing him in to play a big part for us as the year goes on.
  13. Given the ring of steel that was once on the QLD / NSW border, and that I can be pulled over at any stage by the police and asked to produce my licence, I would have to disagree.
  14. It’s disappointing to say the least.
  15. Flew to QLD on Friday May 7th, there were two new cases in Sydney that week. A man who tested positive on the Wednesday and his wife testing positive on the Thursday. Upon arrival in Brisbane all passengers were greeted by members of QLD police and QLD health. I was simply asked how I was and if I had visited a hot stop, I replied I’m fine and no and was ushered past QLD health. NO TEMPERATURE CHECK NO LICENSE CHECK What if I was lying....Sadly incompetence runs this county. So many mistakes already made and no lessons learnt.
  16. This means absolutely nothing if it can take up to two weeks for symptoms to show. That’s if you’re buying into it to begin with....
  17. Obviously money may/would be a sticking point.
  18. I know we love to hate/bag opposition players but when DeGoey is on he’s a very good player. If Weid wanted out I’d be more than happy for that to transpire.
  19. They may have been, I just assumed they were pins. I’ll have a look and see if I can find it.
  20. Going to a wedding today, good friends of the family but f%#k me would it hurt to look at the draw. Then again I do live in Sydney and they are NRL fans.... Carn the Dees, all my multis have you in them.
